Aww yeah, it's a shame they're not more popular, they're kind of my ultimate 'comfort band' you know... and yeah, it actually took me a while (a year, or so?) to fall absolutely head over heels in love with Scott's music, but now I have there's really no turning back! I sometimes feel kind of overwhelmed by how special it sounds - like I'm almost trembling underneath it's greatness... Hard to explain, clearly!! But definitely the closest thing to 'holy' music I think I'll ever find. The Drift I'm still not fully attached to, even though I can recognize that it's an amazing piece of work... the first four solo records, however, always make me think of that great Maconie quote, something along the lines of: 'There are people out there who don't love Scott Walker, but what must their hearts be like?'
