Another solid release from Loscil. Dub for Cascadia is his best titled "Dub for" track yet. I've got zero problems with the spoken word song, let the man experiment for criss sakes!!

Melancholic ambient is how 36 describes his music. The album sounds best when heard in it's entirety and all the tracks appear to flow or build off each other (in this respect it reminds me of the last Tim Hecker album) the downside is that it peaks to early and several of the middle tracks languish. Still a worthwhile listen and 36 seems to be an up-and-comer to keep on the radar.

A harrowing collection of 3 albums filled to the brim with hauntology, dub, drone, ambient and hypnotic chants. What comes out of the creative cauldron of these chaps next is anybody's guess. Best new artist of the year!!

Four Tet manages instill such emotion and humanness out of these tracks. I always walk away feeling so uplifted and energized and that's a sure sign of a great record.

Crust, mantle, outer core, inner core…Where many ambient records give you that moving through space feel, the crushing texture and drone on this album gives you more of a 'journey to the center of the earth'. I love hearing the pattern and movement within the chaos of noise.

A meshing of repeating loops, movement, an electro-acoustic strummed guitar, distant crackling static, ambient sweeps. Just like the place where the sky meets the sea. Most enjoyed album of the year right here.
