    Ich war die letzten 3 Jahre damit beschäftigt, mein Abitur an einem Kolleg nachzuholen. Heute hatte ich meine vorletzte Prüfung. Danach geht's wohl in Richtung Anglistik und Philosophie auf Lehramt. Wenn ich mich trauen würde, würd ich das Lehramt allerdings auch weglassen.

    Das klingt wirklich mächtig cool und spannend und selbst dein Stundenplan liest sich wie der Timetable eines total abgefahrenen Festivals. Trotzdem muss ich dir jetzt die obligatorische Frage stellen, die (vermutlich) jeden Geisteswissenschaftler regelmäßig heimsucht: Was macht man später damit? :D

    Ich find das echt ziemlich stark, dass du mit Kommilitonen sowas auf die Beine stellst. Übrigens: Was studierst du eigentlich? Mit John Zorn habe ich mich bislang nicht wirklich auseinandergesetzt, aber spannend klingt das allemal. Nur leider bin ich noch bis Ende des Monats im Prüfungsstress :/

    Lass dich nicht von unserem Namen in die Irre führen :D Wir haben uns zwar nach der Musikrichtung benannt, aber das war es dann auch schon an Schnittmengen mit dieser (außer vll noch dass 2 von uns tatsächlich was für Musique Concrète übrig haben). Wir legen hauptsächlich Post Punk und Techno auf ;) Ich würde mich dennoch freuen, wenn du dir mein Set mal anhörst!

    Ja, ist ja jedes Jahr so. 2012 war ich auch da. Wüsste aber nicht, ob wer von meinem Leuten fährt, deshalb seh ich mich da dieses Jahr noch nicht hinfahren. Zumal das Line Up quasi fast das gleiche wie letztes Jahr ist, haha.

    Wenn ich das richtig erinnere, hab ich erst dein Last.fm-Profil entdeckt und dadurch deinen Tumblr. Sieht man die gleiche Person ständig in den Shoutboxes guter Bands, wird man halt neugierig. In das Projekt hör ich gern rein. Arbeitest du daran mit?

    The website is coursera.org and I enrolled for a dozen courses. For now many topics are very technical but many humanities-oriented courses appear and that's exactly what I want. I wanted to start learning the basics of guitar and lucky me, there's an intro for just that starting April 22nd. The intro to philosophy is here : https://class.coursera.org/introphil-001/class/index. Lectures with a strong scottish accent. ^^ What's great is that Coursera is free and the courses are given by universities worldwide. Aside from the fact that it's cool to learn about these sort of things, I think it's a step towards giving knowledge to people who may not have access to that stuff in their country. Some courses are followed by hundreds of thousands of people. Every course delivers certificates to people who pass the online exams. An online certificate isn't worth much but it's part of the whole thing. To enroll, the only thing you need is your email address and a password. Shit...1000 chars lim.

    I love cellos – it's great you play that instrument ! – and I wish to find more er..."neoclassical" music of that kind. I found out Hurst's music only a month or two ago so I've got only one album : Obscura which I highly recommend. A rare thing occured 'cos two tracks reminded me of some unrelated songs. Specter reminds me of the theme of In The Mood For Love (if you haven't watched that masterpiece of a movie, do it now ! have a listen at the theme too) and the very beginning of Indi Groove by Chinese Man with that instrument in background. Obscura, the track, reminds me of Mekapses Ytonisa by Estradasphere for some reason. // a good thing these slashes. In another similar genre, Aranis is the best example of what I'd like to find more but I don't know where to look for such music, though I believe there must quite a few (unknown) bands out there. Have a listen at Zilezi from Aranis, the album. I'll gladly try anything you suggest ! In the meantime, I'll listen to Isis and Perényi.

    Thank you for the link, I watched that lecture on Foucault, that was very interesting ! I haven't gone this far yet as I'm still stuck in the 19th century learning about Schopenhauer's philosophy and such things. I know nothing beyond that era. ^^ I didn't know about Michel F. till you mentioned him but I know about the physicist thanks to Umberto Eco's book "Foucault's Pendulum". Among other online courses on Coursera.org, I'm following a lecture called intro to philosophy, it's really interesting for it's a rather "practical" approach compared to reading. Kuddos for that Merz painting btw. ^^ I meant your music library on last.fm, there must be a thousand bands you listened to that I never heard of so I'll take my time testing them one by one.
