Sorry, Percy! Rough past couple of days, and where I usually am and thought I would be online today, I think errands and stuff are going to be taking me away for the rest of the day... Or they may not, and I could come back for replies. If not today, definitely tomorrow :) So you shoutbox shall soon be occupied again either way :D Until then~

And thank you very much for your share :) And for the notification about the Togawa mix being up... I remembered that all on my own, though, and promptly went to download it first thing this morning, before checking here, even, to see the message that it was available for that :) Did you pick out the cover art...? They were mostly Superhero movies :( I told him, though, if there were original movies coming out that actually sounded decent, I'd support them, but there haven't been, so, you know. Maybe that will change once I read the Spring and Summer movie previews, and am made aware of movies that could have potential, but... For now. Captain America 2, Amazing Spider-Man 2, Godzilla, Snowpiercer, Guardians of the Galaxy. That's what I most want to see~ Moving along... Keeping faithful to Comic Book Men, hm? I hear Kevin Smith is going to be getting his own late night talk show... Perhaps that's something else you'll take up with watching too...? Could be a total Nerd Fest. Will probably be a total Nerd Fest. And I tell you, I'm on volume 9 of Sandman, and am thoroughly disliking Loki... Which probably should have been the case all along, because he's a total jerk and everything... So it's going to be interesting re-watching The Avengers today... I'll probably end up not being able

That seems kind of silly... But, whatever, I guess. The article also pointed out that it's probably unlikely that all these movies are going to do well... The Superhero ones, because there's just too darn many of them. They were discussing how there are four major studios, all coming out with at least one Superhero movie a year, and in the case of DIsney/Marvel, _three_ a year... Because yeah, Disney has Marvel Studios movies, Sony has Amazing Spider-Man, which, again, is going to have two more Spider-Man movies coming out, and now two spin-offs, Fox has X-Men and Fantastic Four, and Warner Bros. has Superman and Wonder Woman and Justice League, with those last two eventually getting movies of their own out. So far, though, all those studios have been able to have successes, even with crowded release schedules... But yeah, I get that they can't keep it up forever. Tj thought it was pretty sad that when I was listing off the movies I'm most excited to see in the coming months...

...Less awesome News is that because he isn't going to be all Emo, he's going to be more like the jokey comic book Spider-Man, which means a bunch of forced one liners that probably aren't going to land as often as they're intended to :\ So I'll be facepalming a lot during the film, I imagine. And I guess... I guess they're going to be giving the Sinister Six and Venom their own movies. Which is pretty interesting. I kind of got confused though, because they were wondering if, when these movies are made, will Spider-Man be in them? And the answer was "Probably Not", because there are at least two more Amazing Spider-Man movies coming out, and Spider-Man will be too busy starring in them to appear in a Venom or Sinister Six movie. Um, okay. So who are the villains going to be fighting, then...? Or is each movie going to be an extended Origin Story and they don't fight anyone major? Just, like, cops getting in the way and stuff?

So I try not to break down the logic of "Why am I laughing at This Guy and not This Guy, for doing the exact same things?". But yeah, so there I was, laughing at Chris Martin. Only to find out this week that Pharrell Williams is joining the exact same show as a judge in its next season :(! And I can't laugh at that, because I like Pharrell. So, you know. It comes back to get you. When you're mean and judgmental. Anyway, anyway. So Johnny Marr is going to be on Spider-Man's soundtrack, which is Awesome. Hans Zimmer... I guess he was approaching the soundtrack like... Peter Parker is a Young Dude in New York, and Young Dudes in New York need to strut around to rock and roll music. That's how he phrased it. ...Kind of. He didn't use the word "dude". He probably said "young man". But those two words mean the exact same thing, so, you know. So that should be interesting to hear. And they've promised that Spider-Man won't be terribly Emo, and that was also awesome News.

I've decided that it was good. And that I liked it. A lot. And I think I still feel that way. I'm pretty sure I do. The chorus is so great~ Even if I still don't understand what it must feel like to be a Room without a Roof, because rooms don't have roofs. Buildings do. Rooms have ceilings. Not that I would know any more what it feels like to be a room without a ceiling, but it would make a little more sense to me, anyway. I tell you, though, never again will I snicker at the career choices of others... I was laughing _just_ last week at the announcement that Chris Martin(Coldplay dude, you know?) will be joining the singing competition "The Voice" as a judge... I was like "Oh, Chris Martin. What state is your career in, that you're having to join up with a singing competition". I figured it must be in a bad way. ...Even though Cee-Lo did that, and his career was just fine at the time. But, you know. I tend to want to find any excuse I can to laugh at Chris Martin.

, if not more, in my theater as there will be in other theaters. Because the things I'm confident in rarely come to pass, you know. Or go the way I'm firmly confident they will. We shall see :) Spent my yesterday afternoon reading the rest of my Entertainment Weekly, where the cover story was about The Amazing Spider-Man 2... Ended up learning quite a few interesting pieces of information :0 Such as Johnny Marr is going to be on the soundtrack :0!!!!!! Not by himself... He's part of this super group that was put together to help Hans Zimmer compose the soundtrack, and it some dude from the band Incubus who I can't be bothered remembering the name of, and... Pharrell Williams :D I don't think I can share your opinion about "Happy", either... When I first heard it, I wasn't sure what to think about it... I was like "Well, I guess it's catchy, but is it a good song...?", and I didn't think it was, but then I heard it again, and it stayed in my head, and in all those times going over it...

Man, I've had experience with going to a Wes Anderson movie shortly after it opened in a theater, though! And there weren't any weirdos there. Just a lot of old people that laughed at absolutely everything, and mystified me completely. ...But I don't know if that same kind of audience will be at The Grand Budapest Hotel, because if they did their research, they would know that the "F" word is used quite liberally(from my understanding it is, anyway), and Ralph Fiennes' character makes a side profession of bedding the old ladies that come and stay at his hotel, and I do believe both things would scandalize an older crowd... Or maybe that second thing wouldn't, for old ladies. And instead it would cause them to fantasize about going to a hotel where they could have a similar experience. I couldn't really say... But yeah, I'm quite confident there won't be as many Weirdos in my movie as there will be in other theaters. And because I'm so confident, that means there will be _just_ as many

He's kind of... not in the market for more graphic novels or trade paperbacks at the moment, though, because he hasn't even worked through all the ones he got for Christmas. So he probably won't be too receptive to my suggestion :( Still! One Day. Hopefully. I'll get to check it out too~ And! I'm going to end off on a bit of Good News... Anyhow! I totally, secretly wanted to see "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" when it was in theaters... I didn't think it looked that bad... A little fruity, perhaps, but... And I generally like Ben Stiller, so... But I didn't know if I wanted to see it enough to pay for the opportunity to do so, and apparently I didn't, because I didn't :0 Pay to go see it. But when I can get it as a rental. I'm definitely going to check it out :) Your review is pretty much in line with others I've read... The movie wasn't quite able to use its potential to its fullest, and the first half is way better than what comes after... But, I don't know, I trust it will still be a nice time. I'm not entirely sure why it bombed either...? It came out on Christmas, so perhaps people had better things to do/better movies to watch...? Very curious.

There's a lot of blurbs that sound strangely hyperbolic to me surrounding this new Captain America, though, so I expect to be Blown Away by it. ...Or I should expect to be. Because apparently, it's way better than Iron Man 3, Thor 2, and one guy said even the _Avengers_. Oh boy. For eighteen dollars, I could go see a Captain American Double Feature at our local theater on Thursday :0 I do not have eighteen dollars, though. ...Or I _do_ have eighteen dollars, but I do not have eighteen dollars that I'd be willing to spend to go spend four hours in the theater, watching some Captain Americas. I'm going the Alternate Cinema route this weekend, and will be seeing The Grand Budapest Hotel instead :D!!! So excited~ And then probably next weekend I'll see Captain America. Maybe. Possibly. Perhaps. Probably. Or I'll have to observe a slightly longer wait, so it's not too packed with weirdos and stuff.

Where what he saw and had to fight against and whatever left him a bit traumatized and scared and unsure of himself and it's cool that he wasn't handling things in a Tough Guy Stoic kind of way. Instead he was having panic attacks and freaking out at the slightest mention of New York. So, I don't know... I didn't really see Robert Downey Jr. as phoning it in, or not being as committed to the role or whatever... Maybe some of his jokes were tossed off in a strange way, but... I don't know, I wondered if distraction was the way he was approaching the role in this case, because he's playing, like, Wounded, Battle Scarred Iron Man. I thought the flying armor was a bit silly at first too... But then at the end of the movie you're made to see how handy that is for him :0 To be in one place and have his armor be able to find him and fly to him and stuff. And the army of Iron Men coming along and offering him different suit options as well as back-up was pretty neat too :D

So he was just Guy Pearce's means to an end, and I hate it when they do that in Superhero movies. Like what they did with Bane the first time they put him in a Batman movie... Batman... It was Batman and Robin, wasn't it? Where he was under Poison Ivy's direction, I think, and had a single fight scene and that was the end of it. And then what they did with Two Face in The Dark Knight. Where he didn't even get a _chance_ to be a villain, before they eliminated him. I don't know enough about Mandarin to know for sure he would have been a cool villain if they'd represented him properly, but still, that whole "twist" ended up irritating me. ...But amusing me as well, because Ben Kingsley was pretty great when the Mandarin guise was lifted up and he was his British self. Stinking up bathrooms and giggling about fortune cookies. Still, though. What the heck :\ The rest of the movie, though. I liked. I like left Tony Stark with a very real reaction to Avengers Events...

I had been trying to concoct a way to introduce one of those pictures of "Quicksilver" in to our conversations, too... But I couldn't, and it turns out that I didn't have to...! Because you saved me the trouble :D Alright~ So, I watched Iron Man 3 last week. And man, Haters Gonna Hate. It wasn't _that_ bad. But perhaps it benefited from me going in to it thinking it was going to be, because you're bound to be surprised by something if you have very, very, very low expectations for it. So even if it's only just a Little Bit Good, on the Grand Scale of Things, that takes you aback by being a whole lot of good. Or something. I did not like how they handled The Mandarin, though. At all. I know it's easy for our action/thriller films to default to a Terrorist Theme as being, like, the Ultimate Evil and Scary Thing in this day and age... But it wasn't even that so much that bothered me, it's that they misused the character and he wasn't a villain at all. He was an actor playing a villain.

Man! That is exactly who this Aaron Taylor Johnson as "Quicksilver" looks like! A grey haired Wolowitz. Goodness. How I laugh. ...But I don't think I've ever seen Wolowitz with facial hair. But you've seen more episodes than I have, so perhaps you can tell me if he ever wanted to be offensive enough in the fact to let that kind of stuff grow from it. Because man, that's all I can see. And of course I'm massively disappointed. The Internet pretty much agrees that this is the second Strike Out depiction of Quicksilver, too... I mean, not that they've had more than two chances, because there _were_ just the two, but they're both awful. Some guy was all "I'm disappointed that there is no green in his Age of Ultron outfit. There should be, as a nod to his original outfit"... I didn't even realize his original outfit _was_ green o_o I thought it was blue. Which shows that I know Absolutely Nothing, apparently. So he wanted to give the World, and Hydra, the impression that he was actually another dude, and Steve Rogers was just his faked identity. They were like "But whose body was it that we saw falling in to the water, if it wasn't yours?". Which it wasn't. Captain America was all "Well, I had an inflatable rubber body on me that I blew up, dressed in my costume, and sent in my place to 'die'" :\ Come on now. You just randomly carry one of those on you all of the time? And one that happens to have its arms out stretched in a swam dive? Since I don't think you could pose a rubber body that way. I think it would already had to have been molded that way. That's my suspicion. Maybe he had multiple inflatable bodies on him, though. One in an "action pose", one in a "diving pose", one in a "piloting an aircraft" pose, etc. So stupid, I tell you... Another moment where I had to face palm.

And man, speaking of Death Scenes, I hope to never see a reproduction of Captain America's "death" that was depicted in a Steranko comic I was reading the other day, that Stan Lee penned... Hydra had tracked down CA and chased him in to this warehouse or something, right? And there was a pier attached. CA is... in the warehouse, I think, and Hydra agents are waiting below, with guns drawn, ready to fire on him when he emerges. So CA decides there's nothing for it but to jump in the water, so he runs to the pier, does this magnificent swan dive, with his arms outstretched in front of him and everything, all the while being fired upon. They, of course, don't find a body, but do find some of his costume with bullet holes through it, and a Mysterious Mask :0 So they're like "CA couldn't have been Steve Rogers, because we found a Steve Rogers mask! He must have been another guy!". Turns out, CA faked his own death because it was a well known fact he was Steve Rogers in real life...

He's going to show up eventually, though. For at least an episode. And I hear he's quite the Geek, and knowledgeable about things they like, so... We'll see how that goes. And yeah, we don't get the new Captain America until... Next weekend, I don't think...? And I won't be seeing it for at least another three weeks, if not longer, since that's my general rule :D Never try to file in to a theater opening weekend for super popular movies. I'm all prepared for it though, I think. The next Captain America. Having just watched the first one again, and having to shake my head over the fact I had no memory of Bucky being in it, _even though he is all over that movie_. At the beginning, in the middle, he has a super dramatic death scene... Well, "death" scene. Since he's back and everything.

They also wouldn't have time for romance and making googly eyes at one another. Again, you'd think they _would_ have enough to do, but there is always Time for Romance, apparently. Perhaps is the Horsemen of the Apocalypse also showed up on Shield :0 ...But they can't, of course, because Apocalypse is part of the X-Men and the X-Men are not a Marvel Studios property, I know. ...Unless he went out to other places in the Marvel Universe. I do not think he did, though. But I'm not entirely sure. That would be funny, though. If they _could_ use him, and there were to rivaling Horsemen of Apocalypse storylines going on television. Just presented in two entirely different ways :D I would be entertained. I wonder how long they are going to draw that whole thing out. "He has these not-so-secret feelings, but will he act on them...!!??!!". That's why Sleepy Hollow is awesome, you know. There are multiple single females on the show... Well, _two_, but still. One of them is the lead, and yet they don't have all these little melodramas playing out involving their love lives and who they can potentially be coupled away with. ...Well, they're kind of setting it up for one of the ladies to get set up with the Police Captain... But the lady who is Ichabod's Crane's partner. She doesn't have any love interest drama going on. Because goodness knows she has enough to deal with, with the Horsemen of the Apocalypse showing up and stuff. And that's refreshing. Initiative". "Intergalatics" being my replacement word for "Aliens" :D ...Except, I don't know how Totally Awesome people would find being shot up with Alien Juices to be. If they're healing you, or bringing you back from the dead, I don't understand why they wouldn't be, but, you know. People are their perspectives. You never can tell about these things. And individuals rarely come to a collective definite decision about anything, so, you know. Steranko totally followed in that mold, and oh... Like, he wrote this story that was supposed to be a tribute to Sherlock Holmes, I'm quite sure, because Nick Fury was investigating a "Hellhound" in Scotland, and ghosts, and there was a character named Mycroft in it who turned out to be the bad guy even though people thought he was a good guy, but no, he was really an ex-Nazi who decided to go around and terrorize people with these manufactured supernatural events or whatever... But the whole story was... Nick Fury fighting ghost dogs... Which is... I don't even know. And then there was this twist at the end about this poor young blind woman finally finding her long lost family again, and I totally had to face palm. So yeah, he could totally write some hokey stuff. But! If Marvel did bring him aboard to help with Shield television duties, at least we know the fight scenes would have been awesome :) I really do think so. And ghost dogs could have shown up.

Him expecting to get his comics back, and me trying to explain not having read a single one of them yet, despite the fact I was super excited to borrow them and everything. Ah. So, I made my way through two of them, and am currently working on the longest one, which is a collection of the Strange Tales stories he did, I'm pretty sure... I thought it was pretty interesting that for the first couple of issues he was simply penciling over layouts that Jack Kirby designed... So you don't really get to see Steranko himself until, like, four issues in or so, I think? With the way he deconstructed panels and drew fight sequences and whatnot. And man, you weren't kidding about Steranko not being known for his brilliant storytelling... I mean, visually. He _is_ a brilliant storyteller. But then he adds dialog, and sometimes... Stan Lee himself loved the melodramatic dialog, for sure... Like I was discussing before, the overuse of exclamation points, and also dramatic pauses in sentences...

But yeah, it was definitely a better use of the show than what they've been doing with it... Ties to the larger Marvel Universe presented in entertaining ways. I am not too confident they'll be able to keep up that standard, but I know if they're able to sprinkle episodes with fancy guest stars like that a couple of times over the course of their seasons, the article I glanced at is probably right, and they're going to get a couple more years out of the show. The article thinks it is guaranteed television life until at least 2015. I don't know if I'm going to be along for the ride all that time, myself, personally, but... I've been having a bit of a Shield week, after finally, finally starting to read the Steranko comics my Dad loaned me... I've had them since Christmas, and didn't even make an effort to read much outside of that hilarious "Our Love Story" comic he did... And that's going to be an awkward conversation to have, if I saw my Dad again before correcting this.

, but that's a really strange name so I don't think that was his actual name. It's just the name my mind assigned for him. But yeah, that could get Hot, if he comes back around to woo Simmons or something :0 If Black Agent Guy does. And I agree, the Lorelei episode was pretty good... Some things went on that I didn't understand... Like, sending Ward in at all to confront Lorelei. Or sending a Ward in that was stupid enough to let Lorelei touch him, even _after_ Sif explained that if her voice doesn't captivate dudes immediately, her touch will. So yeah, idiot, go ahead and let her touch your shoulder. ...Or maybe she was already having an effect on him with her voice, so he couldn't do much to move away when she approached him to touch him. He seemed pretty aware of what he was doing, though, before then. So I don't know. I don't understand why they couldn't have just sent May and Sif in, and see how that worked for them. That's... uh... Interesting. ...And maybe also something one of those I's in "T.A.H.I.T.I." could stand for. "Interesting". And I'll really give it to them, they got more mileage out of the whole "Skye has been shot! She's gonna die!" thing than I thought they would... Turning it in to a whole "dramatic" one hour episode, to save her... She probably won't be bed ridden for much longer though, if at all, with the strength of those alien juices, which kind of sucks, because when she was, we saw less of her, and that made me happy. I mean, it didn't stop them from referencing all the things she _could_ have done, had she been conscious and there and whatever. Because they don't have any computer professionals at their service, you know. Only Skye Can Do What She Does. So we had to be reminded of that eighteen million times, in case we forgot or something. Which I am still going to do now, just slightly amending the "recently" to read "about a week or so ago", after hunkering down yesterday and having a Shield Double Feature, so I'm all caught up and ready for next week's new episode~ Not too much to say about the "T.A.H.I.T.I." episode, except that it would be nice, now that we know that's an acronym for something, to know _exactly_ what it's an acronym for. Someday...! There's an "A" in there, at least, so we know it's probably for "Alien". ...Although I'd like to think the T and A stood for "Totally Awesome". So I plan on fully committing myself to a second viewing. Maybe I'll take notes and everything :0 So, I took that away from watching the special, and also the newly acquired knowledge that they had Nick Fury as a black dude in the comics before having Samuel L. Jackson play him that way :0 I didn't know that! ...But I could have misunderstood. I want to say that I heard them say there was some Ultimates comic line, though, where they had Nick Fury as a black dude. And they based his characterization on Samuel L. Jackson, so when it came time to cast him in the movies, they were like "Samuel L. Jackson, you have to play this role for real!". So he did. ...But, again, I worry I misunderstood, so if you know the real scoop... I also had no idea that people dismissed Marvel's first attempt at a movie so quickly too... I have Captain America now, and Iron Man 3 should be coming next. ...I had a thought this morning that there was another movie I wanted to rent before that one, though, but I've already forgotten what it was, so I suppose it couldn't have been that important :( So I should be watching Iron Man 3 next. But yeah, I was inspired/compelled/whichever adjective best fits this kind of situation to watch Captain America because they were talking about Bucky and the role he's going to play in the second movie, and I couldn't even remember him being in the first movie, so... I know I was barely paying attention when I watched it the first time, though.

They're remaking "Gremlins"?? Oh man! I didn't hear about that, or "Poltergeist"... That's so stupid. To an extent, they were both movies of their Time/Decade, so I don't really understand the necessity of a remake...? Or how they would play out. "Gremlins", maybe, which could kick start another generation of kids being obsessed with Gizmo and that being marketed out as much as possible... I don't know about "Poltergeist", though. Don't forget we also have a "Beetlejuice" sequel to look forward to as well, and the third "Ghostbusters" movie, which is still going ahead as planned, even though Harold Ramis passed away and everything. Sigh. Speaking of movies, though, I took another pass on catching myself up with Shield... Which won't be back with another new episode until April Fool's Day, by the way! So the first of April, then. Giving me another week to slack off and wait until the last minute to get caught up :D! I watched the hour long commercial for Captain America 2, anyway.

Where they kept just about everything else the same, but then they were like "Okay, let's make Carrie's mother a mutilator". "Let's make the girls take a phone video of Carrie freaking out over her period, then have them post it to the Internet". And granted, that probably _is_ what girls would do now, if they were confronted with a scene like that and wanted to be really mean about it, but still... It was stupid. I thought. ...They're not seriously considering a Back to the Future remake, are they? :( I know they want to turn it in to a Musical :\ But they want to turn everything in to a Musical lately, so, you know. I don't know how that's going to work, exactly... But they made a "Rocky" Musical work, and I hear it's actually decent, and the ring float out over the audience and it's kind of fantastic...! So maybe they'll find a way to rig up a flying Delorean, then. Could be cool. _I'll_ never see it, of course, but...

Oh, and Julianne Moore was the one percent that wasn't horribly cringeworthy to watch, acting wise, in that "Carrie" remake. Which is really saying something, considering in whose footsteps she was following and the fact that woman won an Oscar for playing that same role. I mean, they added this additional detail to Carrie's mother that I thought was a little silly, but Julianne Moore isn't really in control of that or anything, so it's not like I can fault her for it... I'll safely assume you'll never be watching this movie so I can spoil it for you... And it's not like I'm even spoiling things, really. Anyway, they made her a cutter. Like, when she's around people, and having to talk and interact with them, she secretly grabs sharp objects and starts cutting in to her leg or wherever. Because it's that hard for her to deal with. Alright then. And see, that's what I meant when I was talking about little details that were different from the original, but stupid additions anyway...

stupid started procreating in excessive amounts. So their offspring makes up all of civilization. An example they gave of the kinds of movies these people like in the Future is one called "Butt"(it's not really called that, but I'm not gonna use the word they used. cussing, you know). That's all it is for ninety minutes. Someone's butt. It won eight Oscars that year, including Best Screenplay. I thought that was so funny :D But even if you don't, you could still find things about the movie that are. Funny. I don't think I'm going to immediately climb on board the bandwagon that thinks the movie is Brilliant, but I did enjoy it, anyway. And do think it may be eerily prescient, like Tilda Swinton was saying... I'd give it about a... 6.5, though. Or maybe even a generous seven. I haven't really decided... So if you see it on late night television again or something. Maybe you should try it out~

Netflix came through sooner than I anticipated so I spent yesterday afternoon watching "Idiocracy"... And I tell you, if you despair for society and the gradual dumbing down of it that is currently going on, where kids don't want to read books and tasteless Hollywood trash is currently dominating the box office... You should absolutely watch the whole movie sometime. It's awfully crude... Or to me it was, anyway... Where most of the humor is a sex joke, or a fart joke, or, you know, something with a curse word in it... But perhaps that was part of the movie's overall message or something. Reaching to that kind of humor. Because that's what most people respond to. I thought it was pretty funny, anyway... Like, okay, the premise is Luke Wilson taking part in an army program that was supposed to make him sleep for, like, a year. But he ends up waking up five hundred years in the Future, where everyone is mind numbingly stupid, because we set ourselves on a path where only the really

Also, "Federal Bureau of Physics" _is_ cool, trust me... The covers are definitely neat, and there's enough trippy artwork on the inside to go along with them too, I think. And they explained the way their Universe started to work in a way that I liked, because it involved Pizza :D Because, like, they live in a World where black holes and worm holes randomly appear and the laws of gravity totally don't exist in certain areas, right? Like people will start randomly floating around. This one guy compared the universe to pizza crust... The more you stretch it, the thinner it gets, and the thinner it gets, the more holes there are that start appearing. So that's why all these weird things are happening... Cos of holes opening up in the Universe. Or something. I thought that was neat~ But yeah, since the first trade paperback is out, perhaps you'll have a chance to sample multiple issues that way...? You should try!

of casting the dubbed versions. And "The Wind Rises" was no exception. John Krasinski and Joseph-Gordon Levitt both did good, good jobs. Martin Short too. But yeah, I'm a total weeaboo, so of course I would have preferred the Japanese cast. I think I graduated into Full Weeaboodom yesterday, too! I had a stick of Pocky for the first time :D! And it was delicious :D So, yeah, without a doubt. I Am A Weeaboo. Not declaring it proudly or nothing. Just stating it as a fact. Oh yes. So, what album have you been listening to non-stop...? My Music Life has been De La Soul, Buffalo Daughter and... Well, I got hooked on wanting to listen to "Emerald Tuesday" and the title track from "Hotel Valentine" a lot too. Those are really good, I think. But I respect your opinion of Not Being Terribly Impressed with that album :) It's cool~ And yeah, Koshi Miura's "Works" album is under his own name, and not kuchiroro's or nothing.

It was yucky. So yeah. "Grand Piano" has to be better. Oh, and all I can say in response to your comparison of New Oldboy and Original Oldboy? Is that I agree completely. And that a lot of the movie does hinge on the depiction of the main guy, and Spike Lee totally fouled that up in his adaptation. Just awful. Yet another remake that should come with a sticker that says "Do yourself a favor and watch the original". Maybe they should create an entire section at stores, for remakes that are exactly like that. Under the heading of "Watch the Originals, man". Oh, and I didn't know it until I got to the theater, but I had the chance to see "The Wind Rises" with the original Japanese voice cast :( The theater we went to was alternating between Japanese and English at each showing, but, unfortunately, the first showing of the day, which is the only one I could make it to, was the English voice cast. ...I mean, not that it was _too_ unfortunate, because they always do a really good job

They should just put a sticker on the cover of the disc that says "Do yourself a favor and watch the one from 1976". I'm serious. But, again, I'd already had it firmly set in my mind that I wasn't going to like it, because I thought the original version was Perfect... But even though I was biased, I still think anyone could see how rotten 99% of the actors were in this movie. Even the lead, which surprised me? Because I've seen her in "Hugo" and "Let Me In" and I didn't mind her in either of those movies. But she was terrible in this one. Her overacting was insane... And I mean, sure, Horror movies kind of lend themselves to overacting...? But her performance was Over the Top even by Horror movie standards, I thought. Like when she's using her powers at the Prom, in particular. ...Then again, maybe what Sissy Spacek was doing in that exact same scene in the original could be described in the exact same way. I don't know. Something about the performance... I just didn't care for it.

convinced that I'm going to encounter overhyped nonsense so it has decided it isn't going to be as receptive as it could have been otherwise. My mind likes to do that. Write things off without having ever seen them because they're popular. Or said to be really good by their Cult Fanbase. And then I continue to dislike them even after having seen them because of those same reasons. I'm such a Snob...! My mother and I are always looking for Sunday Afternoon movies to watch together, though, so I'll suggest "Grand Piano" to her the next time we have one of those dates... So thanks for the suggestion :) And anything has to be better than what we watched the last time we had a Movie Date, which was the "Carrie" remake :\ Ugh, ugh, ugh. Don't you just love the sort of remake that barely changes anything about the original, and the changes they _do_ make are pretty stupid? "Carrie" 2013 was pretty much exactly like that. Pointless.

Another one of my inexplicable decisions. Moving along... I just checked Netflix, and the only "Grandmaster" they're going to be carrying when it gets released on the twenty sixth is the one hundred and eight minute one :( Probably skip that one and see if I can find a way of viewing the longer cut, right...? I'd probably have to look to the Internet... And I've lapsed back in to my Not Watching Movies on the Internet times again, so goodness knows how that would go... I could try. Or just settle for the heavily edited version. I don't know...! My next Movie Commitment is going to be "Idiocracy", I think, because apparently it's an Overlooked Gem. Tilda Swinton says so :0 And I want to believe her. Plus, I like Mike Judge. ...Or I liked his Beavis and Butthead and King of the Hill, anyway. I don't know if I've ever seen anything Movie that he's written...? The most I can hope for is not encountering overhyped nonsense, anyway. ...Or one of those situations where my mind is already

Anyway, found out that there's no new episode of Shield this week, because they're going to be airing a Marvel Movie Special instead... Behind the scenes stuff, detailing how their movies are made or whatever...? Why they didn't want to make an entire Marvel Evening out of it by airing that special and then Shield, I'm not entirely sure, but they wanted to keep with their schedule of sitcoms, so whatever. It gives me an extra week to catch up on Shield episodes before I fall another week behind, anyway :) So that totally works~ The special will probably be nothing more than a glorified Promotional Thing for the next Captain America movie, so you'll probably want to skip watching it yourself... Oh, and speaking of Superheroes! That Powerpuff Girls cartoon was Genius :D Fancy costumes, better powers, and witty dialog do not a Superhero make. I forgot how well written that show was...! And that was an episode I don't remember seeing before, so it must have come when I stopped watching...
