What even?! I volunteered at Acoustica where I was backstage manager and the backstage guy said I did a really good job and then the woman in charge of volunteering said she'd be in touch soon and then never got back to me! So jealous, I'm volunteering at Animated Exeter though x

I was hoping for the same! And they're playing Falmouth too so Exeter would've been a perfect inbetween for there and Bristol. If it's part of the offer then definitely worth going for it, even if it's not as good as you hope at least you haven't paid as much. I think I'm going to go to Willy Mason. I'm disappointed by the lack of decent Cavern gigs planned so far for this year x

Sorry I'm only just getting round to replying to that video, a manic few months. But it's so lovely, the whole album is brilliant. I am very tempted to see them in Bristol at the end of Feb x

Exeter would be a lot duller without it. I'm a member of the group on Facebook but still haven't actually been to any yet, keep meaning to and then something happens so I definitely need to change that. Hopefully they'll have something I fancy seeing on soon. Aha, Exeter is great for things like that - that make you feel really quirky and cool x

Ah no, that sucks. Yeah they were good, not amazing but good upbeat indie pop is always fun, although I was a bit gutted 'cause they didn't play my favourites from the album. Plus some girl next to me wore heels and trod on my foot which is now black and blue. How were the Wedding Present? Aha, we are a rarity - we've got an alright music scene though so we can't complain too much. Thank you, such a good playlist! I think Laura by Bat for Lashes is my favourite song of this year x

I just wrote a proper reply but last.fm ATE it. :( I like Albatross but it's a really weird choice of single. I kind of want it to be playful Wild Beasts. Not sure I'm ready for another dark (albeit amazing) WB album. It might take over my life for the latter part of the year, I'm not ready for that again.

It's amazing. <3 POBPAH. Imagine what they would have done with their fire-breathing fists.

Well, i'm glad to hear i'm not the only one who hasn't been to an ATP before! I was under the illusion that every cool indie type had gone at least once in their life heh. And wow! Your friends are uber lucky to have had drinks with Thurston and Kim....jealous!

Have you been to any ATP's before then? It'd be so much easier if there was a Manchester date that had been announced beforehand. Although i've been wanting to go for years I still can't believe I shelled out so much money on the strength of Pavement alone haha. I have agreed that some random person from down south can take the other room but if the worst comes to the worst then i'll have no choice but to sell my ticket to him or some other lucky sod! I shall let you know if thats the case though

Ah cool. I hope you manage to make it to one of the summer shows then. I am going to the Pavement ATP but I don't even know as of yet if I have any exams that weekend! Fingers crossed I don't! To be honest, I bought a ticket on impulse without knowing exam dates or even having anybody to go with! It will be my first ever ATP and the lineup looks pretty good but I just wish I had been more sensible and waited for the individual tour dates to be announced. It is a bit of a shame that all the shows are down in London though.

Yeah, I went to the show at the irish club too. It was amazing and like you say, the best. They were fantastic on Friday night by all means but somehow the first time seeing one of your favourite bands can never be beaten :) On another subject I see you are a big fan of Pavement - are you going to the Pavement ATP or any of their London shows in May?

Hey! It was a great gig last night - The Pains were almost as wonderful as the first time they played Manchester. Got to be up there with the best bands i've seen live. I can't say I go as far as bouncing around and singing along at many gigs haha. The Depreciation Guild were pretty cool too. I was pretty disappointed Ringo Deathstarr couldn't make it though. Did you enjoy it? Oh my name is Stacey by the way and not Sarah :)

well I wanted to hear what the new album is like. It's very odd it sounds like very early simple minds. it's ok but just a band striving to sound like other bands and being nowhere near as good. I don't mind them as a band really although the singer is really annoying

Yeah I tried to get tickets in August but they weren't on sale and then forgot haha, well excited for The xx though. What did you switch from? I used to play bass a lot but then started drums and now play a mixture of bass and ukelele : )

Yes mate! This Saturday is the next one- August 8th. I'll send a mail out about it later in the week. Got 2 great acts downstairs- Peter Lyons from Brighton (one for Why? and Four Tet fans) and the great Manc band- Sir Yes Sir. We then have the disco upstairs (all for £3). Currently in US, so sorry for late reply, but we will back and raring to go on Sat!

It is! Do you want me to post you a copy? x P.S. I got the Pains of Being Pure at Heart album last night, listened to it this morning. Initial thoughts: "This is what the Jesus and Mary Chain would sound like if we fed them e-numbers". I started singing She Bangs The Drum along to one of the songs too. hmm. It's good though, very appropriate for this time of year xx

You've seen through me. I shall just retire to the murky depths of the Fall Out Boy forum now, and spend the rest of my days wallowing in Emo-ness. On a brighter note, I have ordered 3 post-payday CDs. Went for the compilation you recommended, with a view to buying more of the artists I like, also the Man of Aran (finally!) and the new Bill Callahan. Oh, also got Bonnie & Clyde by Gainsbourg and Bardot on vinyl; I shall report back with my many opinions upon arrival x

I understand your predicament. I choose to use the 'delete' button liberally. Not on entire bands, but on specific songs. That chops up your play count a wee bit. However, you would then be a FRAUD, unable to accept the fact that you are a MANICAHOLIC x

I wonder how many of these bands are referring to young goats rather that human children? None, I'll wager. They're cheerful but a bit shoddy around the edges and pretty unremarkable. It's nothing I think either of us haven't heard before.

Sarah from work. I keep lending her my ipod because she needs new music but she keeps listening to the Go Team and nothing else. I've been encouraging her towards other bands but she won't have any of it. It's scrobbling LIES!

I want to go and see David Byrne but tickets are FORTY QUID. Morrissey and Johnny fuckin' Marrrrr were DJing in Brixton last weekend. No good DJs, then...
