Nice charts. I'm just listening to Tamyra Gray's album for the first time and keep seeing your comments in her shout boxes haha. Her voice is amazing!!

I just wanna say that I'm LOVING "Romeo & Juliet". That would have fit in really well on the Human album!

Oh, I would love to go to an concert of any of my playlist artists. But here, where I live, it would be very expensive, so I'm still waiting for the right moment. ^^ Oh, yeah, I saw that, I just didn't find the standart version anywhere, but I found it this week, still great! Hmmm, I understand. So I'm gona give her a try and listen to this one. :D sorry i'm late, I'm having trouble in college. So, did you listen the Me. I am Mariah album?

Hi, yeah I enjoyed the tracks I heard from Anastacia but not enough to buy the album. I was really impressed by Kelis recent album, she really has stepped up this time!

In fact I know her since I was a kid, Spanish Guitar was a smash hit here in Brazil. I'm just more interested in rnb music by now and found out she's awesome. ^^ Kelis! I really like her first album, is the new one better than that?

I don't know who you should sent next. Caro Emerald is actually really big here. Her latest album got to number 1 but i'm not really a fan of pop-jazz singers.. having said that though, I really do like Wouter Hamel. His song "See You Once Again" got quite a nice little bit of airplay here and I own a couple of his albums. He could be a decent choice I suppose and would perhaps get you another good result, just as i'm sure Caro Emerald would as well if she were chosen.

I think it's true that the experience that Anouk and The Common Linnet's had from being already internationally known artists really was a big help. I took me a long time to warm to Anouk's song. I listen to a lot of weird, dark stuff outside of the contest but there was just something so unnerving about "Birds" and I felt uncomfortable listening to it. It was a big surprise to me just how much of a fan favourite it was. I forced myself to listen to it more and eventually I got into it. I started to see the beauty of it. It was a very brave piece. Anouk probably could have done better results wise if she had entered a different type of song but I admire her for going with something that was very unconventional for the contest.

I know! I was so mad that Chris Brown is on that track. And I love the song, but I always have to ignore that it's him. -_- I like Two Eleven, but it's very weak compared to Full Moon, Afrodisiac, and Human. It will be interesting to see where she goes next. I would love something similar to Human but I won't hold my breath. :'( And I've never heard that Romeo & Juliet song, but I'll look it up! She has quite a few unreleased jams. I love Sirens and Maximum Risk.

Ugh I feel the same way! I was obsessed with that album for so long (which unfortuantely isn't refelected in my plays since I didn't have last.fm at the time of its release) and it kind of seems like a slap in the face when an artist disownes a song or album you really love. It was especially weird since the album seemed so personal, so I felt like she would have connected with it the most, but maybe she was just insecure about it's chart performance? I remember anxiously waiting for a third single and it never happened. I mean, it probably wouldn't have done very well, but I really wanted another music video and remix package, lol. I was hoping for "Piano Man" at the time. The tracks I've really grown to appreciate as of late are "Torn Down" "Fall" and "True." I love every song as well, though. :)

Yes I was surprised she placed so low I thought for once we'd finally got it right and were set for a top 5 finish, its the first time in a few years we've had a current contemporary entry after sending entries that haven't had a hit in years I mean I do like Bonnie but she needed something as epic as total eclipse of the heart to stand a chance. I do think we had the right idea taking a rising talent who wrote her own music but I think maybe we should return to national selection something like Sweden do with lots of songs so we have a good choice and don't pick have to pick the best of a bad lot as in other years. Its nice to see the Netherlands doing well again after the bad spell of not qualifying hopefully they'll keep that form up in years to come. I wonder if Valentina will represent San Marino again as each time she does a bit better so eventually she could be the winner and she'd deserve it for her persistence though I imagine people will start to get bored of her soon.

Thank you! :) You have amazing taste too. I love that "Human" by Brandy is your top album; I was listening to that yesterday and I had forgotten how amazing it was.

But having said all that, I was still very proud to have Molly represent my country. I thought she deserved at least a bit more. It didn't ruin the night for me though as Austria's win was just so special. It's depressing sometimes to think what a state this world is in at the moment but Conchita truly is a bright shining light in the darkness. The debates that will now arise from her victory will be tiring.. but no one can take the victory away from her. I hope that she'll do us a lot of good.

I just wish for my country to take the same approach that yours has for the past two years. Molly was a tiny step in the right direction in my eyes. From the moment I read the title of the song, heard her voice and the piece of music, I thought we'd have no chance again.. but then a strange hype started to build around her, a lot of which probably stemmed from the fact we had finally sent a young lady to the contest singing a pop song. The problem was that the song was specially composed with Eurovision in mind YET AGAIN. Your country was stuck in a rut for a long while with a continuous flow of cliche, cheesy entries. The UK has never not been stuck in a rut of sending cliche entries. "Children of the Universe" was somewhat of a wolf in sheep's clothing as it still was a very typical BBC (our broadcaster) approach to the contest. The BBC just doesn't want to win. Over the years there have been so many great established artists that have expressed interest in representing us.

I actually voted for 7 countries too. San Marino 5 times (I just had to show my support for Valentina), Austria twice, then a vote each for Norway, Iceland, Sweden, Malta and Russia. I felt dreadful for the Tolmachevy Twins last night. It almost undermined Conchita's victory for me as I realised it was the same people cheering for her that were viciously booing the two 17 year old girls throughout the night, who for all they know could have been openminded. These young girls will obviously be scarred for life now. It felt strange voting for them as obviously I don't agree with all that is going on in that country at the moment and I didn't want the contest to head to Russia next year.. but I like them and their song has been steadily within my top 3 throughout the entire Eurovision season. I thought I owed them a vote.

Goeie smaak :) :)

I was just coming to write to you! Yes, an amazing night indeed :-) I cannot believe that for the first time ever I have a top 3 that I love. Congratulations on your 2nd place. It was amazing and very well deserved. Sanna did brilliantly in 3rd and the winner i've got to say, is one of the most deserving of all time. A true triumph. Not many could have predicted this until the semi finals (although I always said she had a winning song). It was just brilliant to see countries all over Europe, ones we wouldn't expect awarding Conchita with points for her beautiful song and performance. I feel sorry for Molly but I sort of sensed that happening after the performance. I'm disappointed with Malta's result as well. I thought that Firelight deserved to go top 10. Valentina didn't do well at all in a literal sense but making that final had already made her a winner so i'm very happy for her. Carl in 8th was brilliant too although I wanted him higher.

Yeah, I heard that the first semi was extremely close. I just can't wait to see the results this year and the best thing now is how it's going to be total transparency for the first time. We will know EVERYTHING. That's great you got to speak (and sing haha) with Joran at the party. They do seem a very down to earth bunch of guys. I'm so sad for them. They were my 2nd faves leading up to the contest. After thursdays semi final, I think it's clear we have a new contender with Ms Conchita. She was sensational. I said the first day I heard her song that it sounded like a winner but people didn't believe me. A win for Austria is just what the contest and Europe needs right now. We'll probably have half the countries withdrawing next year as a result but I really don't care! Conchita made the hairs on my arms stand on end. She's got to win! Or Norway, Sweden, The Netherlands.. i'd accept them winning too. San Marino is already a winner just for making the final!! : )

New York so keep me posted!! ;-)

It was the most brilliant, moving moment ever. Valentina made it despite everything that was going against her. So inspiring. Also, I think your country is in with quite a big shot of winning now. They made a brilliant connection with the camera. Everything was perfect. The Netherlands have shot up to 3rd in the betting odds!!

I agree with all you wrote Jeffreeh. "Euphoria" and "Moltiva" are two of the more deserving winners recently. I'm not especially a fan of the style of music it was but "Euphoria" surely is a classic winner and a very solid song. I just want to wish your country the best of luck for tonight. It's a very tight semi but hopefully our favourites will make it. I really hope Valentina and Aarzemnieki manage to make it (the only two i'll be really nervous for). I don't have to hope for Sanna as she'll be sailing through!!! I'm going to be so anxious tonight. I hate the envelope part. Anyway, enjoy the show!
