So, I just finished what has become an annual project for me–creating a mix using one song from every album released in 2008 that I actually purchased. Of course, this means I am missing some great music, because I do not purchase every single thing I want. And before any purists reprimand me, I realize the last Pelican album came out in 2007, but not until I had already completed the tracklist. Plus this album meant a lot to me as I bought it on my first trip to New York City and listened to it for weeks after that. Anyway, despite its flaws, I shamelessly present it to you:
