I was lately wondering what Emm Gryner is doing nowadays (In the summers of 2007 and 2008, Gryner co-hosted the radio show Under The Covers with Danny Michel, a show about cover songs, for CBC Radio One.), and if my discography of her is finally complete (No, I miss The Great Lakes which is a limited edition album with each copy individually numbered and packaged especially for the buyer and signed from Emm herself.).
Emm Gryner is one of my favorite singer/songwriters and I don't understand why she isn't more popular. Well, let's spread the word!
Bono of U2 listed Emm's Almighty Love as one of the songs of the past 20 years they wish they'd written. Being asked the same question (read more here), Emm answered: "So hard to choose. There are so many, but some of my favorite songs are: In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel, Something Vague by Bright Eyes, Rise Up With Fists by Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins, Surround by In-Flight Safety, Stay by U2, Survive by David Bowie, Human by the Pretenders, So Young by Ron Sexsmith……Ahhh too many."
Emm Gryner is also member of The Cake Sale collective, her song Blackwinged Bird sung by Nina Persson (of The Cardigans) appears on The Cake Sale album.
