My first recollection of matchbox twenty was when my dad had discovered what a great person Rob Thomas was. He had bought Yourself or Someone Like You and popped it into our Ford Explorer. I caught on immediately.

Unlike most boys my age, I listen to a lot of classical music, instead of some sort of British rock band, American rock band, etc. I like really out there kinds of music. But, thankfully, matchbox twenty makes me feel almost proud to be an American. A friend once described them as "halfway between pop-ish and rock-ish," which I thought wasn't a good description since to me they aren't pop-ish. I think they are a little more than that.

The band broke up a couple of years ago, or something happened to them, so yes, you could say that I am wishing for a comeback. But as it is something that connects me with my father, I would say that if they released another album in college, it would be greatly appreciated. Rob Thomas alone isn't as good as everyone thinks he is, ...Something to Be isn't all that good except for about two songs which feel just like matchbox twenty should be singing them.

I've got an extensive musical taste, and the bottom line is that matchbox twenty gives me something to come home to.
