Going on, spamming my journal - I'm kinda bored, right now.

Last week, I bought me three Albums:
Peterlicht - Lieder vom Ende des Kapitalismus' (not added to last.fm-db, it seems) on CD
The Libertines - For Pete'S sake (Bootleg Album, hence also not added - and I haven't really listened to it too much yet) on Vinyl
Inside In Inside Out on vinyl.

So now, I'm gonna review the two regular ones, Peterlicht's in German (since it's German music - though I'm gonna write an overall judgement in English, too.) and The Kooks' in English.

So here we go…

Peterlicht - Lieder vom Ende des Kapitalismus.

Naja, Peterlicht. Ein Phänomen für sich. Ich mag ja Leute mit einem Spleen - und den hat Meinrad Jungblut, so bekanntlich sein bürgerlicher Name, ja schon lange bewiesen. Sonnendeck ist und bleibt das Lied, an dem er wahrscheinlich noch sein ganzes Leben festgenagelt werden wird. Zu sehr ein Ohrwurm war das damals. (Und ich weiß bis heute nicht, was er uns damit sagen wollte.) Naja, auch wir driften hier jetzt gerade ab.
Kommen wir also zu seinem neuen Album. Lieder vom Ende des Kapitalismus - eine Message, die wir jetzt sogar verstehen. Überhaupt, die Lieder sind zwar immernoch nicht so ganz normal, aber irgendwie kann man sie doch irgendwie deuten. Und das sogar mit Sinn ;)

Fazit: Mit diesem Album hat sich Peterlicht, zumindest in meiner kleinen Welt, in die vorderste Reihe der deutschen (Indie)Popmusik vorgespielt, weil er endlich genau die Perfekte Mischung aus Abgedrehtheit und Sinn gefunden hat. Und das in extrem Tanzbare Stücke wie Gerader Weg oder Der böse Mann, aber auch langsamere Lieder wie Du kommst nicht mehr zurück verpackt. Es gefällt mir zwar nicht jedes Lied, aber doch ein sehr gutes Album - und sehr sommerlich.

Nice Album. Peterlicht has finally found the more or less perfect spot between nonsense-humor and political attitude. And a nice summer-album. I'm looking forward (I'm gonna say that again and again ;) ) to see him live at Melt! Festival.

Easily this years' best Album yet. Hyped and stuff, but if you ask me, for the right reasons. It's danceable, intelligent, rocky (does that word exist in english?), folky (at least the opener Seaside, one of the songs that won't go out of my head at the moment) and just so much fun to listen to. (And, have I said that I'm gonna see them live? ;) )
And, since I bought the vinyl Version, I got (for free!) a special bonus Lp with it. With 10 accoustic Versions of not only Seaside (which sounds not really too different from the original), but also all the other really good songs like She moves in her own way, Naive and others.

Best track: Matchbox (though it's hard to say)

Points: Summerfeeling 5 out of 5; Dancing and Partying 4 out of 5; Dreaming and relaxing 4 out of 5 (because of Seaside and the Bonus disc).
