I joined Last.FM 644 days ago and just played my 10,000th song. I've listened to a lot of great music over the years, and continue to find artists and genres that I haven't heard enough of. Nowadays I like listening to everything. For example, over the last two days I've been listening to Wu-Tang Clan, Art Tatum, Bob Marley & The Wailers and Apollo 440. Four vastly different styles of music!
To mark the occasion, I played three loved tracks for #9,999 - 10,001. All three are favorites of mine and happen to be featured in video games. They were:
#9,999: Daiki Kasho - SURV1V3 (possibly by Jonathan Underdown )
#10,000: Weezer - Automatic (LA Riots Remix)
#10,001: Lisa Miskovsky - Still Alive
The basis of my library years ago was music from the Gran Turismo and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater video game series. Since then I've branched out significantly, thanks to many helpful people, most notably my brother.
Steve-0h got me into LastFM back in 2007 after months of nagging me to do so. Looking back, I found that he scrobbled his 10,000th song two months before I even joined! Since then he's been recommending loads of good music to me, something I've been grateful for ever since. He even persuaded me to go see Atmosphere and Wu-Tang Clan live, something I never expected to do!
I'm not sure why it took so long to get 10,000 tracks scrobbled. I thought I listened to music a lot, but the numbers don't agree with me here…let's just hope that track #20,000 doesn't take another 2 years to come around.
Peace!
