Going down the similar artists tabs on Metallum for Beyond Creation (lead bass proggy tech death wizardry,) Alkaloid/Obscura (semi-related,) Phil Tougas projects and the tab for Atheist and Gorguts would probably give you an excellent, rich overview for the genre!

Oh I see you listened to Dream Machine, but not the one I checked out. I checked out the more recent one that has 2 members. They have 3 albums. You listen to a different one. Ah well. I'll have to check out the one you have listened to. I noticed your post in the Dream Machine shoutbox.

Love your taste, but I must know...do you listen to all that music or let it run over night? Because that’s a massive amount of tunes. Either way, good stuff :)

Some of it is added later with a placeholder file from drives/time at work, some of it is during waking hours and some of it is lucid dreaming a la what inspires Toby Driver. Glad to see you appreciate First Fragment and Ron Jarzombek as well!

Hey there mate! Nice charts! Some demented tunes you put out. Very interesting ideas and compositions. With a better production you'll have something to be really proud of. Keep up the good work, and when you release that prog death epic you speak of, be sure to give me a shout.

Trade school kinda stalled some plans, but I'm starting to get a semblance of workflow back after some complications, not the least of which being starting trade school. The good news behind it is that it may actually be expanding into a full band very soon, with better timing, production, the works. Glad you enjoyed the older material, it's only gonna get crazier from here!

Right now I'm working on an album with a drummer friend, but after that's done, I have plans on releasing a 20+ minute prog death epic! Was spending time figuring out my core sound for the project and improving timing/production, as well as vocals. Thank you for expressing interest, I'm going to pour a lot of passion into it!

The Link Alive is actually really good, fixes the thin production issues. Embrace the World is particularly mighty on that version.

Really wish I could say I did. Closest bands I can think of are Igorrr (similar use of harpsichord,) the solo projects of the singers (which aren't nearly as intricate but still super dramatic) and an obscure Zeuhl doom metal band named Runaway Totem, but they aren't nearly as captivating (in my opinion of course.) The semi-symphonic lurching funeral death/doom with zeuhl influences is kinda its own beast entirely. Hoping for album 3 this year!

Thanks for recommendations. I had Runaway Totem on my old computer, and all zeuhl stuff is known to me. And there was one Igorrr album which was less breakcore-ish that I liked (Hallelujah). I wondered if there is some more developments on the metal side. Maybe the answer is in your Bandcamp collection?:)

Just did a run through all of it and the closest it gets is Dreadnought - A Wake in Sacred Waves, Ovid's Withering - Scryers of the Ibis or Lychgate - The Contagion in Nine Steps. None of them are quite similar but very rec worthy regardless.

Hi, I started listening to your solo project. It is extremely creative! I love it! I have a solo project myself, the link can be found in my About Me section. I really dig the synths you use in your music.

Glad you like it! I actually really dislike the production of the old material, slowed down to really improve that side of it. A lot of the rock organ is actually run through Marshall amps, a la Jon Lord. I've even considered it for a track inspired by Van Der Graaf Generator, once I can channel Peter Hammill a bit. Will certainly check out your project at some point today!

If you liked Akroasis, you'll like Diluvium, simply put. Follows their trend of building on old styles with slight differences/improvements, the bass playing is pretty fucking awesome.

Skimmed around...the production is still somewhat rough, so I think they recorded it poorly. Props to the variety in these remixes though, the drum n' bass direction was an interesting take on it.

It's overly compressed to my ears. I really want to like Shade Empire, but their mastering is just painful to focus on...Omega Arcane is still the best Dimmu Borgir inspired album to my ears. They just need to work with someone that can master in a way that doesn't squash the life out of everything.

No clue, usually I'm too busy looking up strange genre fusions or avant-garde bands from years past to follow new releases lol. The new Essence of Datum album was pretty badass, probably that.

I love that it had a full DR release, lots of awesome little touches that made it incredible as well (like the super fast delay on the rhythm guitars for extra size.) Hell, I'm actually learning how to do One Strange Loops's vocal style for my future solo albums.

I know some unfortunate stuff happened between us but I remember you asking about my band how it got along and I still appreciate that. Well a different thing i'm involved with just released their first ep https://theouterrim.bandcamp.com/album/uatism . Check it out and realise you want your time back. Which we of course won't give back because we used your energy to summon Cthulhu

"mostly revolving around Modern Metal, Nu Metal and various genres with the word "Post-" in front." Eep, this sounds simultaneously offensively basic and pretentious simultaneously, lol. I'm just imagining feedback mashed up with bland post-rock leads...

Give Scriabin a listen if you're into octatonic works. Especially his 6th sonata -- incredibly dark piece of music. If you find it a bit too coarse try listening through the complete set of 10 in order. Leads you through his exploration of tonality nicely -- from Chopin to something completely his own: mysticism.

Oh very cool so you knew what you were doing. Octatonality music isn't personally a favorite of mine. But that's awesome. That's why I also recommend George crumb. He does octagonal music well!

The piano sonata was absolutely fantastic. There's definitely some cool ideas on the album, but military complex blues was definitely my favorite! That song definitely had great structure! Do you listen to George crumb at all? A lot of it seemed almost to incorporate octatonality to it, which crumb is widely known for!

Lol that was interesting. Sounded less like grind ore and more some crazy as industrial techno, it was so chaotic. I don't think can comfortably get as high as Freddie or geddy. Both are uncomfortably high, even when I'm in shape. I can almost reach Freddie, but always fall a little flat. The way they mix their albums are a little weird, plus vintersorgs voice always sounds synthetic in a weird way. Enslaved is fucking awesome. Start with frost, then go to monumesium, below the lights, Isa, ruun, in times, axioma, then rittir

I can do decently high right now, but it's nowhere where I'm used to singing. Not as high as Freddie Mercury, just a little under. The best thing I have to record with is my new iPhone 6s+ and I doubt that's good enough for recording. But thanks for the offer anyway. When I have a bit more money to spend without a care, I'd love to do that! Warehouse 23 is definitely a lot cheesier. I guess I could say it's like a campy x files and Indiana jones. I definitely have to agree on Jimi. He's made some great stuff, but some of it just... Messy. Do yourself a favor and watch it, it's a great movie! Got it, I'll stay away, unless I'm really high. The only grind influenced bands I really care for are cattle decapitation and anaal nathrakh. It's just not for me, for the most part. I'd listen to borknagar every once in awhile, but never went crazy over them, which is surprising, because they're absolutely fantastic. Very nice! Are you a baritone or tenor for power metal vix? You got it for inbx
操作
-
ClassyMusicSnob
That's exactly what it is... It makes it a bit more cohesive and actually a lot more fun! Very cool! Are you going to put it online? I need to get my singing voice back into shape. My growls sound somewhat decent now, but I need to sound like a 1st tenor again for my singing voice, not a struggling 2nd tenor. Nice! For me it was tng, ds9 and bsg that got me into serial shows. I was considering changing it to something law Patrick Stewart like and just as ridiculous, but I don't want to lose this avatar, since I don't have a computer anymore, I don't have the original saved. :( warehouse 13 is fun, but pretty damn cheesy. Jimi Hendrix' guitar is possessed! XD x files is somewhat serious, but it does poke fun at itself, it has quite a lot of humor! You've never seen the original? It's a comedy classic! Plus Bowie is in it as himself! Good to know for between the grind and me. Like how bad are we speaking? Borknagars new album is pretty interesting! Definitely not as good as it'd though
操作

I haven't seen it either, but it's probably more of the same from zoolander. Since it's so long since the original came out, I wouldn't be surprised if its as bad as dumb and dumber too. I like the silent circus, but some of them more metalcore parts annoy the fuck out of me. I still haven't listed to their first album which is supposedly grindcoreish

Surprisingly I don't really fantasize aboot lesbians, just her. Then again she's basically everything that I've wanted in my on girlfriend... God dammit life, why do you do this? I think you pretty much nailed movie sex scenes. Farscape does have Australian humor, which is nice, especially considering it was only shot In Australia to save money, but CO parking season 1 to the rest of the show is like comparing fall out boy to Ayreon. The latter just can't hold up. But the show basically showed how much Aussie hottie Claudia black is probably the best nerd sex symbol ever... Oh you'll see more of her and Ben browder in Stargate as well! That'sprobably the best way to watcH SG1. I spedfhrough that show way too quickly. Well x files is aboot 15 years before twilight, so probably not. I just found the episode hilarious, since it basically had the same characters in it. If was just properly dark for the setting and a bit more realistic.
