Sorry this is so late. I actually agree with you about Jonny Buckland. I've always thought his guitar was interesting, I like his style. It's understated, but it's good. And I don't love this album like I love ROBTTH, but it's quite good. I definitely prefer the more down-to-earth, riff based songs to the atmospheric stuff on the last two albums. I can't wait for them to tour this. It'll be good to have a bit more focus on Buckland, and it'll be interesting because this is a bit different for them. Rockier, riff based songs instead of piano based or atmosphere-y things are kind of new for them.

Exactly. That's exactly it. Apart from Uprising, the only good song on the album was Exogenensis, and that's good because it's different, both from the rest of the album and mainstream rock. Now they're becoming more and more mainstream and doing more run-of-the-mill pop/rock that appeals to a wider fanbase - the kinds of people who only really listen to pop. I wish they wouldn't, because they really don't need it - they've got a cult of a fanbase built up already, and all of us would be infinitely happier with a rock album like only Muse can do it than whatever pop crap they're planning on putting on the next album. I'm really worried for this album. The Resistance was so much worse than everything else they've done, and unless they do a complete 180, this album is going to be even worse.

New Born's a great song too. I love when the main riff first starts up, after the piano intro. And the guitar solo's always really great too, especially the KROQ 04 performance. I really love the energy of that song. I actually fell in love with when I heard The Resistance, but after listening to the rest of their stuff, that album is easily their worst, and my favourite now is OoS. Hullabaloo was the best. I would give anything to have there. They're still a really good live band, but they're just missing the energy and the insanity of their old shows that made them really great. And I'd love for Matt to dye his hair again!

I love Stockholm Syndrome live, and especially the outro. It feels so much more like the craziness of their older concerts. I'm always excited when they play it - but nothing will ever beat the Glasto 04 performance. And Bliss is brilliant live too, again with the extended version and the extra riff where he just goes nuts. I'd love to see it live someday, it's probably my favourite song.
