Merry Christmas! Hope you had a great one. By the way, do you use Discord or something to discuss and recommend music?

Haha! It's still an epic song. Severely underrated! Glad my shouts from over a decade ago are still ringing true.

Listening to Philistine Empathy, I think I'm going to have to fall on the side of Pity Won.

Last.fm's scrobbler updated yesterday, after finishing the update it asked me to link my account but didn't present the option anywhere and wouldn't work without linking an account. A ton of other people on the scrobbler's tech board had this problem, some had different bugs/errors. I managed to find a workaround by installing foo_audioscrobbler.dll. Guess I'll have to try Spotify or Pandora to stream music until this works itself out.

My pleasure! Hope you like them. Hathaways and Lonely Trailer also put out great stuff this year.

Indeed: I credit The Sheila Divine's 2012 record with getting me through February and March.

I'd say that the newer songs simply don't hang together in the way older ones did. Too much jamming on a single chord. They were missing something to give them immediacy and purpose. It didn't even take much: there was one section of "The Seer" where the bass started playing a four-note refrain and suddenly the entire song was thrown into relief, with something to hold onto and drive it forward. "Coward" was just far and away the highlight, is what I suppose I'm saying.

Gira's doing long hair again, sadly. He waved his hands, spat, jumped, make cryptic, disjointed jokes about "licky licky sucky sucky Boston", and played variations on one chord for most of the show. I have to say that the new material was mostly not too impressive, certainly not in light of what they were once capable of.

They ended up playing for over three hours, and "Coward" (the one older song featured) was without a doubt the absolute best ten minutes of it.

I'm still kicking myself for missing them when they were on tour in 2010. Definitely pumped to see them in october, especially with yr glowing review. Your taste ent so shabby either, I'll have you know.

I can't decide which is my favorite. Your question is far too complicated to answer. I will say, though, that I have been listening to "Change" a lot recently.

I like Plug in the Babbies because it's really really heavy and they aren't usually a really heavy band. Your bandcamp is boss by the way, it's sort of like noisy old school post-hardcore but with a catchy Interpol side. But no it's legitimately really good, especially that ending on Luna Lovegood.

I paid about 250 for it. It was a pretty good deal considering how over-hyped they are these days. Comb your local craigslist daily, it's worth it. You might want to consider getting a Concert Bass, as they're cheaper, seem to pop up more frequently, and are essentially the same amp. my current band's bandcamp page is http://disobey.bandcamp.com . We're recording new songs soon, but the old ones are okay.
