The three extreme genres would be Black, Death, and Thrash. I guess Thrash, is just a lot of people's perception of it. some people will consider it extreme some won't. Sorry for the late response, shit came up.

it's making a come back. Nocturnal Blood is doing great within that scene and so did Nick's previous project Nuclear Desecration. What sucks is that I do like that stuff, but i want there to be some Black Metal shows every now and then. The last one I was aware of was the Nazxul/Nightbringer show.

bands like, Blasphemy, Revenge, Black Witchery, it's that shit that's just in your face, straight forward, very linear in song structure. Bullet belts, hoods, chains, black shrouds around the eyes. that sort of thing.

yeah, that fest has a lot of "War" Metal bands and the black metal bands who are on the border line with being "War" haha.
