Wed 8 Sep – Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Telekinesis, The Mommyheads Little shaken up after that one. Was looking forward to finally catching a Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin show and I was a little disappointed. Their set list was choppy, and seemingly non-existent. It was like they were thinking of songs to play on the fly. Didnt flow well at all and the vocals were consistently off. I had the overwhelming feeling that the band new they sounded kinda weak and wanted to be done with it. Some standout songs were Modern Mystery, Glue Girls, Oregon Girl, Dracula, and Let it Sway. The real crowd pleaser was the opener, Telekinesis. So much energy, so interesting! They rocked so hard, no wonder they'll be opening for Superchunk on their upcoming West Coast tour. Anyways, like I said, a little disappointed in the SSLYBY set, but it was still a great show. Especially in the intimate and honest Bowery Ballroom.
