http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQt_MR17Fng , Haha hmm, maybe he was playing with another band. He seems to "guest appear" at a lot of shows with bands. I forgot who the last one was...but If I remember correctly, he's playing with About Tess soon (as in with them, at the same time on stage) unless my memories really messed up. btw did you ever link to that WEG interview?

Oh, dang! Hmmm... Maybe ask what inspired his new album musically, maybe what musicians or bands, or what type of genre sound he was aiming for? I've seen him on stage wearing black Tuxedos and fancy stuff lately, a complete turn around. There must be something that has inspired him to put on this more concert-friendly type of jam-band vibe. I don't really have any questions though, I'll just be happy to read others.

i would like to know more about his fascination with babylon! what is the concept behind the name virgin babylon. Does he feel our society is on the brink of collapse and what can we learn from the ancients?

hey ho, in case you're waiting for some questions, here again: cool thing, interviews are so rare... it would be nice to know, how he came up with the idea of an own label and the work with matryoshka and co. also it would be interesting to know, what the idea/concept behind his homepage is. oh and i think thats the most important question i'm asking myself alot: what does the end of the world means to himself... i mean, it seems to be a pretty interesting literal motive for japanese, and if you look at his name, it seems pretty important to him, too. cool thing, cant wait to read it :)

Likewise my firend! I cannot wait either :D What is your favorite song or songs right now?(:

Haha honestly I dont even remember the bonus tracks. It's definitely more similar to his older work though. It's the songs used around various parts of his website, so I wouldnt expect them to be anything amazing; just something to go along with the visuals. I keep repeating the album though. I barely just noticed Helter Skelter being such a beat oriented / dance song. I mustve missed it first time since I was on xbox live as it played. Didn't notice the awesome violin or whatever at the end of Decalogue either. I think this album just proves that this guy can really make any type of strictly-genre future album he wants, like a pure beat/dance one, and it'd still be pretty good. Pull a Mars Volta and just release an epic jazz album. I'd like to hear one of just Offering Inferno , dark ambient/drone/noise stuff.

I'll check them out! And no, I deleted my comment. But I posted it again! I believe the one I'm uploading has 3 bonus songs. Man, so fuckin good so far. Even iuf people don't dig the sound or new direction, it's hard to deny this is seriously one of the most original albums ever. I've never heard anything similar to this at all.

hey mate, I've got an EP out (guitar based ambient). Listen to it when you can and let me know your thoughts. I'd love to hear what you think. http://asfandyarkhan.bandcamp.com http://asfandyarkhan.tumblr.com

Hmm, theres no info on them in english, and I'd sound dumb if I tried to explain the EPs, but they're here: http://mirr0rshades.blogspot.com/2010/07/worlds-end-girlfriend-division-eps-and.html Check out WEG Myspace lately? He's finally "pimped" himself out. I tried to add him, and it let me send the request. I remember a year or 2 ago, it'd simply say "WEG does not accept friend requests" ...soo, now I just wait and see if he actually "approves"

Ahh, I saw that the 14th. I woke up at midnight so I wouldnt miss it haha. It's really different, but still very good. It gave me a final fantasy 7 vibe around the 3 minute mark. It just reminds me of traveling a world map in an RPG , haha. It's only 2 months away, phew! I have a track of his from a V/A album, it's a tribute to classical composer Chopin. Some guy also sent me all 6 of the WEG Division EPs, but they're corrupt =/

I have this thing for Grizzly Bear, they played at Ray Ban the exact same time as The Antlers did at Pitchfork. Decided to go see Grizzly Bear and then catch The Antlers at Ray Ban Unplugged. But I'm definitely gonna see these guys again, the blew me away :) As for the other bands, Broken Social Scene and The XX were great, the Big Pink and Yeasayer also.

That's crazy, I checked my windows library and I have 7 of his albums, but I don't remember him much, except for that video. I discovered him wayyy back in the OINK-torrent days. Most of the stuff I dled back then I havent heard in a couple years cuz it's on a separate slower hard drive. Haha oh man, so many people talking about applemilk1988 in the comments. I guess regardless of how they discovered it, it's always good to see people reaching out to new things. You ever hear the new WEG stuff? I uploaded a few vids of his live performance a while back on youtube. And I have the 55 minute performance mp3...it's probably spread like wildfire by now

Wow, that's unfortunate. There's always a certain type of music I wanna' hear being created, but I've yet to stumble upon it. Motorro Faam was one of those rare bands. Picked a simple concept like water/ice and stuck with it. I mean, the only musicians that really take certain concepts that far are the really shitty "ambient sleep music" cd's you'd find at Walmart, of just actual water running and nothing special or technical about it =/ Even with WEG and Kashiwa, sometimes I wish I'd hear a certain theme and story all consistent throughout a song. Doent matter though, cuz they're bad-ass.

Listening to Hammock would mean having to get past The National first, and dodge the 65dos, Minus The Bear, Gaslight Anthem, Foals, Year of No Light, The Hold Steady, Kayo Dot and The Black Keys. We're not even in June yet and I think this has been an utterly amazing year. I haven't even gone through some of the ambient releases (Loscil, e.g)! Anyway - here's one for your ego: immediately knew you were from DiS upon seeing the friend request.

I checked out both of them a while ago on Myspace but I have not gotten my dirty lil paws on any albums yet (I have too many "senior moments" and forget to download stuff). I liked both but I enjoyed the HIdden Cameras a bit more. Anything new in your ears lately that you have just loved? I'm now going to investigate this Ola Podrida song that you have 110 listens of. I only have 2 tracks of Ola in my iTunes....

There really should be a mega-super-uber compatibility rating on here for sure! I've never investigated the Hidden Cameras or Mew before...I will have to lurk around your library a bit!

No haven't gotten it yet, but I just found out it was on Spotify and I almost cried ;o I have been searching for their music everywhere online (as a student I don't really have the money to buy albums and such). Well, not so much lately because I gave up hope, but right after I saw them live I searched like an idiot for their music and I couldn't find anything except a few songs. Because honestly, that live by the The Irrepressibles at "Way out West" here in Sweden, in church in the middle of the night, was the most beautiful thing I think I will ever have seen in my entire life. I get goosebumps just thinking of it o__o And, yes, sure, I always appreciate new music! I would to hear that compilation of yours 8D (Thanks for the youtube link btw; being in the same sentence World's End Girlfriend, it can't be anything but good)

Nice meeting you too, I'm always up for more Japanese bands so send away! Your review of the garage gig is pretty good, well deserved 10/10. I can't send yesterday's pics yet since my mobile internet here is -horrible-, but you can see the ones I took at the last gig here if you want: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mreh/sets/72157620766523574/ Now let's hope Shugo's Europe minitour will get him the recognition he so greatly deserves! And that his next gig isn't an instore tainted by...estate agents.

Good to meet you today! What band was it that you described as a "cross between EITS and Aphex Twin"? That description intrigues me mightily...
