I've seen Dead Meadow perform here in Baltimore twice, then at All Tomorrow's Parties in NY and at the Austin Psych Fest this April. Always worth it \m/

Oh, the point to this mission is to try it draft. Six packs exist but of a bottle isn't the same. And while I'm talking beer.... http://www.beervalleybrewing.com/beers.shtml Bitterness 100+. Would not and could not expect anything less from something called Black Flag., but still. dang.

I am excited for you and your Dinosaur Jr. show! The Cramps and Dick Dale played the Beachland Ballroom so that's pretty neat. October seems to be a good month for live music, Ravi Shankar is playing in Houston on October 13th. Sadly, there's a slim to none chance I'll catch that particular show. One day I hope to be sitting on a big (or medium, I can deal with medium) pile of green paper you can exchange for stuff like music and food and sex. Anyway, we ought to each see how many shows we can make in October and when I win, you'll owe me a Coke.

BAAAAHAHAAHHAAAAAHAHAA (long-winded for lol) I had not heard the entire Limbaugh diatribe until now and it's definitely spot-on, but it the idea of "Limbaugh munches scat" in my brain? I don't like it. Not because it's gross but I love scatting (jazz, of course! When Ella does it http://youtu.be/gPvl__VXP4w gah, yum) so there's that. Also, skat is my nickname and so now I'm involved with Barbara Bush taking a shit in someone's mouth and Ronald Reagan is peeing himself? Right? And Rush douchey-trucker-mother Limbaugh is getting to third base with me and UGH GROSS. Besides, I like Reagan. I mean, I probably wouldn't let him pee on me, but he's alright.

What ever I said this morning about the David Byrne & St Vincent song - please disregard. It's fantastic. Checking out his discography I see Byrne did an album with Fatboy Slim aaand weird. Or maybe not because he's weird. Is it still weird when weird people do weird things? Fatboy Slim, their music makes me anxious. What to do. There's a St Vincent song on the album though and just like everything coming from Annie Clark, it's so good. Great. She's a magic angel.

"FUCKING GORGEOUS http://www.avertedimagination.com/images/transitcolor1.jpg this could go on for a minute now, hope you don't mind. Also, hope you are well. Very well. Or else. " is what I posted into my own shoutbox Thursday morning, assuming it would magically appear where it was supposed to be, which is here. Plan failed :( Grandaddy song + video both fair cases for road tripping, Canada sounds excellent. Summer doesn't exist there, right? Or sunshine?? They do have this guy http://youtu.be/OtFqgsyvujc reason enough to give them business. There's an album called He Poos Clouds and it makes me feel weird, all I can do is sit and listen and occasionally watch the speakers when I feel like something else may coming shooting out. Luckily, only good things are on the spew. http://youtu.be/cuzmxuGIjw0

the fuggin balls outta of my retinas from trying for like, a solid 30 minutes off and on. so i tell my mom about and she's like, I was in school when i saw mercury and my teacher taught us how to make pinhole cameras and that's when I realized HOW FUCKING RETARDED AM I. IT WAS SO EASY AND OBVIOUS WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME. AGAIN, ALL CAPS. IF I COULD TYPE LARGER, I WOULD. literally shouting out loud to myself. so there's that. all i can do is stare off into the distance and feel sorry for myself. IT SAID IT ON THE DANG WEBSITE. FUCK. never will forgive myself. maybe if i go into space and go live on mars, maybe. otherwise, i feel like a really awesome relationship sprang forth out of nothing and it was super amazing for like, two days and then the other person shits on my head and calls me ugly except i'm the person who shits on my head is me :'(

I butthole surfed all night. Was very enjoyable, they're weird. Also Primus was really fun. But I fucking hate my life right now and i don't want to talk about it. but i have to tell somebody. anyway. like, no body in the world wanted to see that stupid venus transit (stupid=me stupid) but NO. http://stateimpact.npr.org/texas/2012/06/04/venus-in-transit-how-to-witness-a-rare-astronomical-event/ we've got welder's glasses and so i thought i'd be fine. THE WEBSITE SAID AND THE INTERNET DOES NOT LIE. fairly heavy duty glasses, still no go. and i think i burned my the fuck out of my retina from trying a few different times. so i tell my mom about and she told me saw mercury with a pinhole camera and that's when I realized HOW FUCKING RETARDED I AM. IT WAS SO EASY AND OBVIOUS WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME. AGAIN, ALL CAPS. IF I COULD TYPE LARGER, I WOULD. so there's that. i was shouting at myself when i wrote that, out loud. and (fuck sentence structure) now i'm pretty sure i have burned

with someone at the gate &let 'em know, hey. There's a little somethin' in it for helping us out. I'll tell the "sob" story of of the shanking, with pictures and everything &more than likely they will take pity on two pretty girls who just wanna dance their rear-ends off to some bass heavy musical lovins. What good are battle scars if they can't be used to my advantage? I have high hopes. Will be even higher once we get to the show. Hopefully there will be a little Primus/Descendents jam sesh, since I won't be up there in time to see the Decendents' set. Also super bummed that I didn't get to see Erykah Badu last night, but that's besides the point. As long as I see the Terrible Three, all shall be well in the land of Sarah.

I love Jim Breuer, I like Howard Stern and I absolutely CANNOT STAND THAT LITTLE NAPOLEON 2.0 FUCKWAD LARS ULRICH. ALL CAPS! Doesn't help that I was raised in a family of Rush fans to whom Lars Ulrich was the complete antithesis of all things Good, Holy and Pure, ie. Neil Peart. Once I was old enough to get into music for myself, I enjoyed a bit of Metallica here and there... but Lars? Fuck Lars, hard, sideways and sand-papery. He's a shit drummer and a shittier human being. I can't even fuck around with the 1% of Metallic jams I actually enjoy because I can't separate the music from his sniveling little rat face. There are a lot of fucks in this post, look what you did. As for REAL musicians with SOULS who play TASTY JAMS, I'M GOING TO SEE PRIMUS TONIGHT! I don't have a ticket... they're head-lining day 2 of Free Press and by the time I could get my hands on a ticket, the price was upwards of 90 bucks. Not havin' it. Soooo the plan is to have a friend already at the show make nice

Maybe we'll find out what, if anything, is after "super" (super duper? dooper?) once I get my ears on that Spiritualized album... I've thought about it every day since listening to it on the youstoobs. Also, I like to buy albums in pairs though so which other of theirs would you recommend? But as for something which might negate my double Spiritualized purchase... and don't judge me too harshly for this... but... I don't think I really like Pink Floyd :/ now WAIT before you go un-friending me.... I mean, never mind, that's kind of all I have to say on the subject. I definitely don't hate them; there are some songs I can get down on, mostly before Dark Side of the Moon, but on the whole, meh. THAT'S RIGHT I SAID MEH

Had to ask my husband if he has those - apparently he does not. I'll check them out soon, then. Thanks! Btw, If you can find the track "Strange as Snow" by The Turn-ons, it's one of my favourites. That album I sent you to download is the most recent, and the poppiest. There's more "dirt" on the other albums. All of their stuff is good in its own way, though.

definitely. they've calmed down quite a bit. age, I guess. the band that opened for them, btw, is probably something you'd like. they were a local seattle band, but SO good. Their music is fairly easy to find. free download(directly from them) of one of their albums: http://www.theturn-ons.com/curse.html

yeah, the show itself(other than some dickiness by maynard and mike) was still very good. Haven't seen Spiritualized yet(*almost* went once, but the show was on my son's bday, so we couldn't go). I could see Jason being that way. With him, I probably wouldn't characterize it as being a dick, either. I agree with you there. Oasis... well. You know what you're getting into there! Sucks that the show wasn't on the level too, though.

they weren't dicks at all to the crowd. definitely weren't happy with the venue people, though. no backs to us, either. I have a few photos from the show that I took. No backs!: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1041634887169&l=dedb237ffe | https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1041635007172&l=d9a97af017 | https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1041634687164&l=78bf70605e I *have* seen Tool in concert, though. And Maynard is indeed kind of a dick. And had his back to us 99% of the show. Also, Mike Patton(opened w/one of his sidebands) made chicken noises into the mic for a full 20 minutes. It's even more annoying than it sounds. Trust me.

Good choice! Easy to answer - The version of The Hardest Walk that's on The Power of Negative Thinking, Disc 1. I actually saw The Jesus & Mary Chain in concert, too. Loved it, including watching them get a little pissed off because they were having some sound issues. Fun to see their infamous tempers in person. lol

$17 is a deal. Get on that! I saw that they were touring again. A friend of mine in New York will be going(next month, I think?). I haven't looked at the dates, but I somehow doubt that they're coming anywhere near Greensboro. *goes to look*

that does sound fun - the classic Summertime outdoor concert experience. Re: the My Bloody Valentine concert... they handed out earplugs at the door. I thought that was hilarious. It was also nice to be able to find some decent MBV shirts without having to scour the internet. Last year is when we saw Mogwai, too! I still wear the hoodie I got from that show constantly. I would love to see both bands again sometime. It may be harder now that I've moved away from Seattle, though.

I don't know - I've been to some really great concerts! Mogwai and My Bloody Valentine are probably my top 2 concerts. Both incredibly loud, with a fantastic setlist and atmosphere. On the other hand, Flaming Lips was REALLY fun. And Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. I have some really great photos I took at these concerts in frames along our walls. See? Hard to choose. I had a few others come to mind while typing this, too. lol you?

Also really nice http://youtu.be/b8otAnhifyY for om yoga soundtrack type thing. I've got a yoga playlist on my YouTube account and I'm thinking the two simultaneously would be interesting. Probably Golden Nectar more like, though. Not a fan of wordy music while I'm trying to find my centre &all that shit. Rambling, I am.... Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend irresponsibly in the presence of responsible persons. Babysitters are hardly ever a bad idea.

* "'The Sun, Moon & Herbs' was the last album to be released under Dr. John, the Night Tripper." I'm not sure if recreational drugs or prescribed drugs are what's (what are?) contributing to my memory &creeping stupidity, but dang. Once I get established with this new gig I absolutely must go back to school.
