it's pretty good, there's a lot of more Jamaican sounding influence on there which I like and there's a track with Discarda that absolutely bangs, so sick. proper generous of him to give it out for free, been a good year for Footsie I reckon

you should check out Buju Banton if you're interested in ragga/dancehall type stuff man, got some great tunes ranging from the harder style to more roots reggae sounding songs. Sizzla as well is essential if you haven't heard him, he's got about a million releases so he can be a little inconsistent but his best albums are classic. for Buju Banton look out for his Til Shiloh album, for Sizzla check out Black Woman And Child, Rise To The Occasion and Da Real Thing

not the place to talk abt this, but it's funny how your latest blog post is on the game of thrones just when i randomly felt like seeing the tv adapatation yesterday. i read the first book three years ago and noticed that the plot went thin 600 pages into it, so i abandoned the series altogether. the show is nothing like how i imagined it, but overall, it's okay. your review--if it could be called that--gives me hope to continue. "blood and boobs tacked on most gratuitously" lol, ia.

i'm not usually one to take any notice of pitchfork trends, but this whole 'witch house'/'drag' thing is really cool. pinch wins though, bit of a legend!

It really is something special. I've not heard much of Outkast's discog, only bits and pieces, though I've always wanted to. I think this release has made me more determined to check out their body of work, I'll do so soon! The production is ridiculous throughout- I think about 6 different producers were used throughout the album but it still manages to sound a cohesive whole. One of my favourite things to have come out this year.

I would not have thought very low to be honest. I do love my pub rock. That is my dads influence. I really need to start listening to Death Cab again.

it's really good. not many huge surprises, but if you've liked her other stuff up until now you'll enjoy it. right now i'm a bit too obsessed with the new Flying Lotus record which just leaked this morning to devote much time to anything else... soooo good!

hmmm, quite doom-laden but simply majestic. I've done homework to it before- it's been alright! Yeah, I've noticed you've been listening to the hyperdub 5 compilation lots recently, it's a fab collection of songs and it's let me discover so many new artists. er, pantha du prince is AMAZING. You must have heard the song he did recently, which featured Panda Bear on vocals? It's just brilliant instrumental music, I'm sure you'll love it. It's great to do work to as well. If you need me to upload either album of his for you let me know!

i absolutely love the new Four Tet record, but i haven't heard Everything Ecstatic yet. new one has some really nice spliced vocals in the opening track, The Field-esque minimal techno jams scattered about, great sense of space, lots of other nice things about it. i'd recommended it, definitely, but if you're still on the fence you could always acquire it through less legal methods beforehand to see what you think...

haha! I'm so in love with Kim Deal. When I saw them two months ago at Brixton, I positioned myself on the barrier directly in front of where I knew she'd be. I think she waved at me. Though I think I might have been imagining that at the time. Yeah, I really like the XX album, but that remix is just so wonderful. It's also much better than the original F+TM song.

Yeah man, I basically don't watch a film if Kermode slates it. Yeah, I agree with you when you say he has bad music opinions. I mean, he was trying to say Comsat Angels were "the band Joy Division wanted to be" in his review of 'Control'. Terribly incorrect! Didn't know he disliked Beatles too ;(

Man. Two of my friends who have never met each other are both listening to I See A Darkness at the same time. These are good times.

Yeah, I love ISAD- I heard of this great man through Liam and have fallen in love with the record. I've still yet to listen to a lot of his other stuff though, which I'm really looking forward to discovering. Animal Collective are the greatest band ever and Merriweather Post Pavillion is without doubt my album of the year. Perfection! I'm glad you enjoy it! Also Brother Sport is possibly the most euphoric song in existence. Strawberry Jam is pretty accessible too, or even the Water Curses EP? Keep giving them a go, they are so worth it :]
