Mine was up and down, mainly stayed indoors, wrote a new sketch for the radio show which turned out funnier than we'd hoped. Opened my e-mail inbox to find lots of new contributions from bigger names than I'd expected for the Oxfam indie comp I'm curating, which made me all warm and fuzzy inside. Got my Sega pad working on the laptop and played far too much Sonic 3, then forced myself to do some studying, which is a constant, uphill struggle. Oh! And had some soup. All in all, not too bad! I will have to check out more Tim Hecker for sure, my emusic credits get topped up soon and it'll be my first buy. Plans for the week? Sleep and avoidance? x

This sounds like a wonderful, wonderful plan. I found out that he is playing here in May and it costs next to nothing and so am super-excited about this. What is the correct stance and attire for a Tim Hecker gig? Faintly disconnected and dressed in black, perhaps. My pledge for tonight is to listen to the Headless Heroes record you sent me, promises. How was your weekend dear? x

you have to take the rough with the smooth, i suppose, and there's always the simple pleasure of finding something wonderful in a sea of dross. i feel awful about feeling reassured by the fact you don't know what to do after graduation, as i'm banking on nothing but pipe dreams so far and i finish in FIVE months. i still feel as though i'm seven years old most days: you finally master shoelaces, turn around and the world has changed. x

i am just in awe of anyone who can play the piano well. it is the most beautiful sounding instrument; it makes me sob like a little boy, sucking his thumb under the stairs. my campus is fairly wonderful i guess; it has secret underground tunnels too! these add an element of bonus magic. sackville sounds like the place to be; canada seems to consistently produce brilliant musicians. britain has such poor hit to miss ratio; for every radiohead you'll get 15 oasises... and below the surface is much scuzzy garagerock. below THAT surface you find some wonderfuls, but me and british songs sort of fell out of love. perhaps it will be rekindled one day. gosh, it's 2am. i think human beings do sleeping and stuff now. yet, i have sega and songs. x

well, in truth, it's not a castle, but it's castle-like, which for me is enough. here, here here. http://api.ning.com/files/S5U7SYMuYCkrFDTsbHBT3y8SFd0Z375QBW-NAQfVtyU_/royalholloway.jpg i read from your link that your university is 'among the most beautiful in Canada'. This makes me feel safe in the knowledge that i can adore my university despite its faults because a beautiful campus is a beautiful campus and is and forever shall be. i am majoring in modern history and politics; like you not exactly what i had planned (english was supposed to be my thing). i am trying to muddle my way through piano at the moment, with help from a friend. i'm pretty limited to be honest; words and mouthnoises seem to be where i'm safest, though composition isn't too far above me, just about. i generally point to more talented musicians, make them do the hard work, and sponge off their glory. i think my last.fm has a link to our record ^. in an act of vainglorious self-promotion. how tragic. x

well, i'm doing shameless flickr creeping, so i believe we're even. believen. your life appears to be 189.7 percent hipper than mine, although i try my best. i spend my time meandering, mostly. i go to university in what is essentially a castle. i present a radio show with about 2 and a half listeners. i sing in an ill-advised folk band that will be swept under the carpet soon enough. these are just the things i speak of proudly. the rest is blusterrrrr. so other than taking pictures, slumber parties, coffee shops, crazy golf, walks (told you i was creeping), what takes up your life life life?x

oh! thankyou for sharing! i will have a listen on this sleepless friday night in sunny, sunny england. the sweater is a work of genius. i feel utterly unworthy of it, but i am pretty much just a vessel to carry it around and share it with the world. i figured post-christmas it might look out of place, but you've cheered me up no end. this raises the question; can your camera really do such amazing things as in your avatar? lie to me if necessary. x

yes! the way walking segues into red and purple is just incredible. i had my first listen to 'time to die' tonight and have to say was a tiny little bit disappointed. i hope it's a grower, but i guess visiter will always be one of 'those' albums. time and place and all that! x

Brian McBride is a beautiful beautiful man. May I recommend Tim Hecker; a little more intense, but just as incredible. Also, hello. x

I'd def like to check Canada out at some point, does seem cool. Mind you, UK is pretty rubbish sooooo y'know. I went to Florida when I went to America. So very different from life at home haaa. I've never lived in a proper city either. I live in the city of Canterbury, but it's tiny and mostly overrun by students any way.

http://toomuchhonkyeverything.blogspot.com/2009/11/tasks-i-ought-to-complete-b4-i-go-grey.html oh me, what am I like? To summarise: learn to write (novel/screenplay/comic, whatev), photography, get better at filming, make more animations (one thing I've actually managed to do quite well), knit, be in a band (or bands) and other such exciting things. My life goal would kinda be just a prolific maker of crap combined with a job like John Cusack's in High Fidelity. We'll see as I graduate this year. How about you, what are your goals? Haha hope they're more based in realism than mine.
