It's 2013! I make this list for 6 years now. There is some change in positions: Adele gained 20 positions with Rolling In The Deep. Big gains for Bon Iver and Florence + the Machine but the biggest gain of all though goes to one of the biggest hits in 2012: Gotye finally makes the list with Somebody That I Used To Know. Overall Lady GaGa lost abit and so did Muse.

Since i got some feedback on the last list with tracks that i missed, i now updated the list. Since this is a most played tracks of all time on last.fm list usually there is not that much change. Now since the last list is only a month old there is even less.

Of course i did add the tracks i missed before from System of a Down, Linkin Park, Massive Attack, Metallica and The Verve. Also Adele did a leap into the list, so she is new. Coldplay's new album did fuel plays of their older songs too, so…

Im compiling a list of songs that are the biggest "One offs" from bands. Songs that are played more than the next two biggest hits of the same band combined.

It is that time again and here is the updated Stairway List for 2012.

When i started this list, i thought that the most played track of all time is Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven. While is still think thats true, with decades of radio airplay and home plays on vinyl back in the day, nowadays we have a much better understanding of what people are listening to with the help of last.fm.

Since this is an all time list, there is not that much change, but Coldplay did manage to gain two places and is now right behind the…

It's been over a year since i updated the list so we should expect a few changes. Lady GaGa was just getting started the last time, so now she scored an impressive third place beating Coldplay and Oasis. And with a second track she reached 6th place before Muse and MGMT.

The Number One is still Mr. Brightside with not that much more to go for a staggering 10 million plays. And all the Stairway list titles together reach 300 million plays. Man, i love those numbers.

I looked at my neighbourhood and can tell you now that i live in a nice one. Age ranges from 14 to 40. Male / female ratio is about 1:1 and homes are abit spread out (in france, japan, sweden, portugal, brazil, UK, germany, australia, singapore, russian federation, italy, austria, finland, poland and belgium). And not a single one has ever complained about the noise. Cool.

I hit the 100.000 registered plays on last.fm mark yesterday, most likely with this track: Alexi Murdoch – Towards The Sun.

Thats just a mental amount of music im listening to. Ah well, who cares…
