After 4 years since HTTT, and roughly over a year in the studio working, Radiohead have finally announced the new album, and is due out in just three days!
the big thing about this release was the fact that they asked you how much you would pay for the album, I paid £2 for the download only, but I get paid this Friday, and will buy the discbox once i get my cash in, so exciting it is!
How much did you pay?
The tracklisting:
15 STEP
BODYSNATCHERS
NUDE
WEIRD FISHES/ARPEGGI
ALL I NEED
FAUST ARP
RECKONER
HOUSE OF CARDS
JIGSAW FALLING INTO PLACE
VIDEOTAPE
I have heard 9 out of 10 of these songs, possibly all of them, if Faust Arp is just a renamed song of last year's tour/before that. But there are a few reasons why it really doesn't affect me in terms of buzz ive gained from hearing the announcement
a) Radiohead's studio recordings are usually totally different from the live iterations, especially Kid A and Amnesiac, and they couldn't have spent about a year just putting the exact same live versions from 2006 to disc, if it was that it would have been the same as HTTT, in terms of recording time (2 weeks)
b) Perfect atmosphere - songs be not ruined by americans shouting "RADIOHEAD YEAH!" on bootlegs, a full, cohesive effort, with an atmosphere to back.
c) ITS FUCKING RADIOHEAD!
I'm rather excited, are you?!
