Another quick album review. I won't waste your time.
Listening to this album is like sinking into a beautifully scented bath after a long, grubby day. After making do with the overrated, it comes as a welcome relief. You feel clean again.
My first thought when I heard the opening track, The Age Of The Understatement, was just one word - talent. This is quite funny for me. It came as a huge shock to learn it was the guy from the Arctic Monkeys. I absolutely loathed them. Couldn't listen to a single note. And here I am, hanging on every word, loving every harmony and wallowing in sheer pleasure over the music (very 60s, John Barry/Bond).

The album continues the theme begun in the first track. As a whole, there are no other standout tracks but, to my mind, it doesn't really matter. It doesn't seem to be the point. There aren't many albums with samey-samey tracks that are enjoyable all the way through. Damning? No. Just play it again.
