Oh dear, so many changes to LFM too now I understand..... I will see where they are going. I can't get to grips with Spotify, I keep trying, but I lack the patience to set up loads of playlists all over again. I tend to use iTunes. I just love LFM for the song sharing and the connection with people out there. I'm back on my trusty bike, phsyio says I can cycle, I just have to avoid running and walking on uneven surfaces, or walking for long periods of time - Oops.... I've been walking Mella on the hills... shhhh don't tell! Wishing you a happy Easter and hey, eat as much choccie as you like... XO

Paul, thank you so much for your words a few days ago - I did try to reply to you but LFM was up the creek and definitely without a paddle, so I gave up. Mella is a great distraction so we managed to get through the day. The memories will always be in my heart. Enjoying some great sunny weather here and trying to get loads done in the garden. Just had a visit from my bro, which was nice. Take care and have a groovy musical weekend XO

Oooo a telescopic net........ well there's thought, most likely Mella would chew her way through...... when she's not chewing her way through me that is! If anyone saw my arms and the back of my hands close up they would think I was self harming! The joys of puppies eh? XO

Why thank you Paul, I hope you are having a good weekend. Naturally I was out dancing the night away last night....... ha ha.... I wish.... nasty knee is preventing any of those shenanigans for the time being. My dilemma is to get Mella out the door before she has an accident - the joy of toilet training a pup! I can hop extremely fast now.... picture that.. um maybe not LOL So nice to see the sun shining here this afternoon, it was positively wild last night. BFN hugsssss XO

Hello mr btb, midweek and here I am unbelievably! That's because I am confined to the sofa since yesterday afternoon. Bad knee problem, anterior cruciate ligament damage to be precise. Awaiting further appointment with consultant on Friday and MRI. In the meantime I have my music and Mella climbing all over me or falling asleep on me in ridiculous positions. Latest storm has just departed eastwards after loads of rain - now just extremely windy. Happy Wednesday xo

Ya, all is well in Suzyland, it's still horribly stormy and no end in sight, the roads are a mess and the fields are flooded. As I drive down the hill to work it all becomes very interesting watching swans swimming in fields and water lapping up to the walls of houses. All pretty dire really. Rain is lashing against the window again. Mella just loves chasing the leaves around the garden, I can't take her out walking yet, not until she's had her last jabs. Hoping you're dry and safe too ... hugssss XO

Why, thank you kindly sir - would you believe as I gaze out of the window that I look upon blue skies? Woo hoo! I believe it will be short lived. Mella is simply wonderful, sleeping through the night without needing to go outside. I am thrilled! However, her teeth are like needles and I look like I've been self harming with all the scabs on my hands and arms. Now, let me check out that song you shared, whatever you think about our different tastes I am always open to other music. Beaming sun and smiles your way XO

Thanks mr Paul - very rainy here and I'm sort of glad that I can't take Mella out for walks just yet. I am covered in scratches and bites from puppy play time but Mella is learning rapidly what is acceptable and she is just what I need right now.... put a smile on my face after feeling down since returning from holidays. Hugs to you sweet friend XO

About Me

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882)
A PSALM OF LIFE

WHAT THE HEART OF THE YOUNG MAN
SAID TO THE PSALMIST

TELL me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream ! —
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.

Life is real ! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal ;
Dust thou art, to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.

Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
Is our destined end or way ;
But to act, that each to-morrow
Find us farther than to-day.

Art is long, and Time is fleeting,
And our hearts, though stout and brave,
Still, like muffled drums, are beating
Funeral marches to the grave.

In the world's broad field of battle,
In the bivouac of Life,
Be not like dumb, driven cattle !
Be a hero in the strife !

Trust no Future, howe'er pleasant !
Let the dead Past bury its dead !
Act,— act in the living Present !
Heart within, and God o'erhead !

Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time ;

Footprints, that perhaps another,
Sailing o'er life's solemn main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
Seeing, shall take heart again.

Let us, then, be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate ;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait.

On October's day, towards evening
Sweat embossed veins standing proud to the plough
Salt on a deep chest, seasoning.....

WITHOUT MUSIC I WITHER AND DIE....................... STILL REACHING OUT FOR THAT SOUND...............................
---------------------------------
When evening falls
She'll run to me
Like whispered dreams
Your eyes can't see
Soft and warm
She'll touch my face
A bed of straw
Against the lace

We believed we'd catch the rainbow
Ride the wind to the sun
Sail away on ships of wonder
But life's not a wheel
With chains made of steel
So bless me come the dawn
Come the dawn

Iron-clad, feather-feet pounding the dust On October’s day, towards evening Sweat embossed veins standing proud to the plough Salt on a deep chest, seasoning
Last of the line at an honest day’s toil Turning the deep sod underFlint at the fetlock, chasing the boneFlies at the nostrils plunder
The Suffolk, the Clydesdale, the Percheron vieWith the shire on his feathers, floating Hauling soft timber into the dusk To bed on a warm straw coating
Heavy horses move the land under meBehind the plough gliding, slipping and sliding freeAnd now you’re down to the few and there’s no work to doThe tractor’s on its way
Let me find you a filly for your proud stallion seedsTo keep the old line goingAnd we’ll stand you abreast at the back of the woodsBehind the young trees growing
To hide you from eyes that mock at your girthYou’re eighteen hands at the shoulderAnd one day when the oil barons have all dripped dry And the nights are seen to draw colder
They’ll beg for your strength, your gentle powerYour noble grace and your bearingAnd you’ll strain once again to the sound of the gullsIn the wake of the deep plough, sharing
Heavy horses move the land under meBehind the plough gliding, slipping and sliding free And now you’re down to the few and there’s no work to doThe tractor’s on its way
Standing like tanks on the brow of the hillUp into the cold wind facingIn stiff battle harness, chained to the worldAgainst the low sun racing
Bring me a wheel of oaken woodsA rein of polished leatherA heavy horse and a tumbling skyBrewing heavy weather
Bring a song for the eveningClean brass to flash the dawnAcross these acres glisteningLike dew on a carpet lawn
In these dark towns, folk lie sleepingAs the heavy horses thunder bySo wake the dying cityWith the living horseman’s cry
At once the old hands quickenBring pick and wisp and curry combThrill to the sound of all theHeavy horses coming home
Iron-clad, feather-feet pounding the dustOn October’s day, towards eveningSweat embossed veins standing proud to the ploughSalt on a deep chest, seasoning
Bring me a wheel of oaken woodsA rein of polished leatherA heavy horse and the tumbling skyBrewing heavy weather
Heavy horses move the land under meBehind the plough gliding, slipping and sliding free And now you’re down to the few and there’s no work to doThe tractor’s on its way
Oh, heavy horses move the land under meBehind the plough gliding, slipping and sliding freeAnd now you’re down to the few and there’s no work to doThe tractor’s on its way
Oh, heavy horses move the land under meBehind the plough gliding, slipping and sliding free And now you’re down to the few and there’s no work to doThe tractor’s on its way
Now heavy horses move the land under meBehind the plough gliding, slipping and sliding free
