Again, that's not an opinion worthy of respect. Don't tell, show. It's not stupid to dislike Wilco. It's stupid to dismiss them for no apparent reason. But yes, there will always be haters. I'm fighting for a lost cause, but I still fight anyway. Even though that really sounds dramatic in the context of something simple as Last.fm, I would think you understand my drift.

it's not stupid to dislike Wilco. he clearly has a reason, but most people don't come to an artist's shoutbox to list off reasons why they like or dislike them. and sometimes people just don't like something, it's just the way it is. it's still an opinion. and what do you mean "that doesn't mean they should"? of course everyone should have an opinion about something, and thank god we all do. if i may offer a piece of advice: just ignore haters. they're not doing any harm, and they are aaaalways going to be on last.fm no matter what, in every shoutbox. of course you don't have to listen to me, but it is good advice. oh and i wouldn't worry myself about your health but i certainly do care :P

There really shouldn't be any similar artists. Wilco is in a league of its own. And I don't want to get involved in the argument but people generally suck. So that explains why they try to make others mad.

There's nothing wrong with his way of thinking, per se, but it's stupid and uneducated nonetheless. There's no point of bitching about something you don't like when you can't provide at least a decent reason to back up your claims. Otherwise, it's a rant, not an opinion. And therefore, that's something I cannot and will not respect. Yes, people are entitled to have opinions, but that doesn't mean they should. And besides, I am not at all enraged. I just say what I mean and mean what I say. I'm firm and blunt with my words. You can take it or leave it. I hear what you're saying, but that doesn't mean I'm going to see things your way. Not that you give a damn about my health anyway. Don't worry about what's good for me and what's not.

no, i don't care about what you do, you can do whatever the hell you want, but that doesn't mean i'm not gonna say what i have to say. if we're talking "needless comments" here then we might as well mention every single shout that has ever been left in an artist's shoutbox, because every one of them is pointless. and it IS an opinion... he thinks Wilco is a mediocre band. there's nothing wrong with thinking that and really there's nothing wrong with being mad about it (it is human nature to get angry when someone doesn't like what you like, after all), but usually people grow out of that. all i'm saying is that there's nothing wrong with anyone else's opinion and there is no reason for you to get mad and defensive when other's say what they think. i'm sure all that rage is not good for your health anyway :P

You say you "actually have to care" about what I do though you don't, yet you report back to me with thesis essays that suggest otherwise. How is posting a needless comment about Wilco's supposed "mediocrity" without giving any sort of reason an opinion? Wait, I can answer that for you because it's not. It's bullshit and so is this little debate with you. I have an opinion of his so-called opinion and I'm sticking with my story. If that bothers you, oh the hell well. I'm sure what's his name didn't hire you to be his personal lawyer anyway. Since I can't TELL anyone what to do with their time, I kindly SUGGEST you to find something more valuable to do with yours instead of giving me lectures...

i wasn't "scolding" you... for that, i would actually have to care about what you do, which i don't. i was just pointing out that getting butthurt because someone doesn't like the same music that you like makes you look like a child. and how was i missing the point when that's exactly what i responded to? like i said, no one is trying to convert you. you can't tell other people they're wasting their time... it's THEIR time, not yours. no one's objective is to change your mind about music, believe me. but you can go ahead and attempt to insult me some more just because i have a different point of view... i expect nothing less from someone who attacks people simply for having a different opinion.

@hotterthanjuly, if you don't give a damn then why are you responding? seems to me that if you didn't care, you'd just ignore it, especially since NO ONE is trying to convert you. some people don't like Wilco, no one is going to keep their opinions to themselves just because you don't like it. there's nothing wrong with saying that you don't like a band... it's childish to take it personally and get mad just because someone doesn't like what you like.
