　Foster The People @LIQUIDROOM 2012. 1/17

　Foster The Peopleのソールドアウトした東京公演１日目、行ってきました。

　さて、明日のUNIT公演がまだあるんで、セットリストの公表の方は控えましょうかねぇ・・・^^（ほんとは覚えてないだけとか言えない・・・ｗ覚えてらっしゃる人たまにいるけど、ほんとにすごいなと思いますね・・・。あともっとたまにセトリ書いた紙持ってる人いますよね。あれどこで手に入れるんだろう・・。欲しいな←）

　ざっと見渡した感じお客さんの年齢層は割と高めだったと思います。大学生らしき人は稀にいたけどそれ以下の年齢の人はあまり、というか全く目にしませんでした。（もしかしたらけっこう前の方で飛び跳ねてたのかもですが。）そこで思ったのは、やっぱこのシンセポップは80年代に青春を過ごした人たちにこそ大きく響くのかな、と。New Orderとかのニュー・ウェーブが好きだった方たちに。あとは最近で言えばDelphicとかもその系統ですよね。行ってないですが、彼らの来日公演の年齢層も決して若くはなかったと推測します。　

　話が逸れましたがFoster The People、メンバーは皆きれい目な顔立ちで、ステージ上にはサポート含め５人いたと思います。ボーカル＆キー、ドラム、パーカッション、ベース、ギターが基本ですが、ボーカルのMark Fosterを初め一人複数役こなします。　

　えー、特に盛り上がった曲は、"Call It What You Want", "Waste", "Don't Stop", "Houdini"（サビが一瞬MGMTのElectric Feelぽいと思うのはぼくだけでしょうか・・ｗ）とかだと思います。個人的には"I Would Do Anything For You"がMark Fosterの声のクセが強くない気がして好きなので、そのときアドレナリン出まくりました。

　終盤Mark Fosterが、「2002年にスーパースターWeezerのリーバスにギターを教えてもらってうんぬんかんぬん・・・（訳テキトーｗ）」と前置きしてWeezerのカバーSay…

Last Saturday, I discussed the issues with the current similar artist formula...especially Metallica being top 10 in similarity with The Offspring (like what?).

Well, since then, I put my programming skills to work and well, I built a little program to test to see it would work with other artists. Results were noticed on several bands/artists as their similar artists over went a make over. However, it did lead to new problems as I tried testing it out super-mainstream acts including our favorite band...Radiohead.


Rage Against the Machine showed up as a similar artist.


...well, apparently. Radiohead's top 250 similar artists currently are all over the place in random genres. A bigger batch of similar artists would be needed to get the best results, but the question is...is my new formula better. I'm going to show you some examples of artists top 25 similar artists...before, and after. You guys make the decision.

Matt & Kim, Lupe Fiasco – November 4, 2011:
Although I was in the balcony of the arena of my school, Matt & Kim were still fun to see. I enjoyed singing along to Yea Yeah, Good Ol’ Fashioned Nightmare, and Daylight. I tried to throw a paper airplane to make them play Ice Melts, my favorite song off the album, but it didn’t go very far…haha. Lupe Fiasco was alright I guess.
