Bloody shame they never released any more than the EP. They were supposed to follow up with an LP, but it never materialized. I blame Clairecords.

(and apparently, it also doesn't support linebreaks.... awesome) Anyways, to get back to the stella luna topic..... i'm sure you girls (and guys) have your reasons.... but to an outsider, the entire situation looks quite ridiculous: A newcomer band, with an entire arsenal or rare equipment, releases 4 songs, and instantly become a legend in the shoegazer/dreampop scene.... actually, they're so impressive, that almost 10 years later they still have more listeners, than most nowadays newcomer bands in the genre. The consequence? Nothing! The band doesn't even split up, but just engages in other hobbies besides of music..... legendary success and a museum of equipment.... for four songs..... As i wrote, i'm sure you have your reasons - but to outsiders, it almost seems as if you - in like totally untrendy style - don't actually care about your success, support and tech.... it to outsiders looks as if you simple had a few awesome ideas, released them, and then moved on to other interests

The more i look for anything remotely comparative.... the more i figure out there must be some point to the museum of vintage equipment they posted on their blog..... used for just...... 4 songs. Even ignoring composition, the sound itself captured on the CD, makes most current shoegazer and dreampop band sound like amateurs. Whoever of them did the technical stuff and mixing, has no reason to hide her/himself from those who call themselves "professionals" (and even then, nowadays the job of the supposed "pro's" is to trash the sound, for the sake of pushing the compressors to the max.) Yeah, it may sound weird that i care so much about recording and mixing.... but the thing is, nowadays there simply aren't that many well recorded albums anymore. Heck, considering the typical current crap mixing and mastering of your usual CD, i often just prefer well done and untampered live recordings. (continued in next post, since last.fm doesn't allow more than 1000 chars/post)

Used to be in a band on Steedog Records - a label Starbelly had some associations with. It's been years, but I'm glad to see some of the old crew still at it. Or least I hope so... is the band still active?
