pinkbrush: How are they gay? Pretty much everyone in the band has a girlfriend. I know you're probably not meaning it in that way, but still, that insult is pointless and makes no sense at all unless you're meaning, "This band is kind of happy!". If not, what you said makes no sense considering most them have girlfriends, and the bass player is married to a woman. Anyway, this band is like my drug. I've listened to them since I was 11, and I started loving them as soon as the music video for this song ended. They're amazing. :D

I kinda love this song though, it makes me want to jazz hands while turning someone one with a cocked eyebrow.

ACTUALLY the song is based on his grandparents, who were in a concentration camp. he has said this in interviews.

Treblinka1122
The band's singer is jewish, hinted in this song and others (including Wow, I can get Sexual, Too; when he says I forgot all the rules my rabbi taught me in the old schul.) And this song is about a couple living during the holocaust. Treblinka was a concentration camp. And it says many references, than anyone who pays attention to their history should easily find.

Maybe it's because I'm a nerdy english/history major, but I love this song. The vernacular in the song is pretty deep (the use of treblinka, which if you're not a history buff, was a nazi concentration camp, rivaled only by aushwitz in the numbers of jews that were killed in WW2). I liked that it was atypically sappy....Rock on!

maybe there is some history to this song, but basically I think it's about just any couple living for the moment, knowing that their future may not be so bright.
