Born and raised in Tokyo, NM_Z a.k.a NMZZ started DJing and creating tracks in 1996, aged 16. In 2004, one of his tracks was selected in a contest featured on Japanese electronica mainstay Ryuuichi Sakamoto’s radio show, and was featured on the compilation album RADIO SAKAMOTO. In 2006, NM_Z enrolled at IAMAS (International Academy of Media Arts and Sciences) in Gifu, where he studied DSP, design, programming, music and media art.
After graduating in 2008, he got to work producing techno/IDM tracks, and his debut release, NMZZ1, hit the scene in 2010.
