I've been listening to this piece for most of my life and the brilliance of Miles Davis and Bill Evans still amazes me.

The way Evans is playing sounds like McCoy Tyner, somewhat. The Eastern tone...very nice.

From the famed 1958 sessions with Cannonball, Jihn Coltrane, Paul Chambers and Wyton Kelly...this is one of MILES Best Ever recordings and the whole Kind of Blue Album was a total game changer for me when I first heard it, listening to Symphony Sid back in the days on NYC Radio after midnight when everybody was sleeping...I was DIGGIN MILES....I was in the 8th grade....Diggin Miles....Still do...

I haven't got into the later electric/fusion Miles as much as I want to yet, so I won't compare this to any of that period. What I do love is the 'second great quintet' from the earlier 60's, who seemed to have some kind of wonderful chemistry bordering on telepathy at times. There's some great live stuff out there from this quintet

I love Miles Davis in most periods of his career. Last FM don't seem to like anything like Tutu, In A Silent Way, On The Corner or basically any of the more electric / fusion material he recorded. Big big big shame cos there's so much more to Miles than Kind Of Blue and Birth Of Cool and we aren't getting to hear it here :((
