PUMPS! just doesn't have enough... atmosphere for me. Even their more rhythmic (All The Way) and dissonant albums (Vision Swim) still sounded cool. PUMPS! sounds like it's just trying to sound "silly" like Black Dice, and it's not as interesting sonically. Drum machines, vocal samples, tremolo guitars... you can find those anywhere.

All The Way is awesome! you fools, Growing are consistently great, they never just make a record for the sake of it, the change in direction on PUMPS! is drastic sure, but who's to say its any worse than Harmony...? they're such a different prospect now, it's fruitless to say which period is better/worse. just enjoy it!

Still have to say The Sky's Run Into the Sea and The Soul Of The Rainbow And The Harmony Of Light are their best albums.
