2001年、スウェーデンのミョルビーで結成。中心人物は元MITHOTYNのステファン・ヴァイナーホールである。
　
ヴァイキングメタルのテイストを色濃く残しつつ、朗々と歌い上げるヴォーカルを中心に据えたスピード感溢れるメロディックなヘヴィメタルへと方向性をシフトしている。
歌詞のテーマは中世の歴史を扱ったものが多く、そういう点でもヴァイキングメタルと同心円状にあると言える。
　
その声質からバンドをイメージづける重要な役割を担っているマティアス・ブラッド<vo>は、ミュージカル俳優としてのキャリアの関係でツアーに出られず、バンドは滅多にライブが出来ない状況に置かれている。
それを改善すべく、バンドはマティアスを一時解雇し、クリストファー・ヨーベルを迎えて活動するものの、やはりマティアスの声がバンドに重要だという結論に達し、再びマティアスをバンドに呼び戻した。

    I listen to many, many different bands (only a few of them are listed here on my lastfm profile)... And boy do I love this band. It's the perfect mix of several other great bands' styles with an original pinch of salt that makes it worth my attention.
