I haven't heard this live (missed a chance to see him at EITS ATP, along with Stars of the Lid, for which I will never forgive myself), but on record, it's as close to perfect as he's likely to get. the warmth of the production, the ear worm melody...none more evocative. lo-fi ambient pop from a gentler, more innocent place. reminds me of a recurring childhood dream of a very thing crack in a dark forest floor, which happened to be a very thin, fairly deep lake, and I could somehow observe it from the side, deep down, and it was full of glowing fishes...
