Jak co roku o tej porze zachciewa mi się muzycznych podsumowań. Jak zwykle powstaje moja prywatna lista, która śmieszy, szokuje i denerwuje innych, a uzasadnienia są totalnie „z dupy”. Ten subiektywny ranking płytowy powstaje głównie po to, abym za kilka lat mógł go przejrzeć i sam z siebie się pośmiać: „ jak mogłem czegoś takiego słuchać i w ten sposób pisać?!”. Subiektywny i dla mnie, więc po co go publikuję? Nie ukrywam, że liczę na dyskusję oraz spostrzeżenia. Może ktoś przeoczył ważne wydawnictwo płytowe? Może to ja coś przeoczyłem? Mam nadzieję, że każdy skorzysta na lekturze tekstu i ewentualnych komentarzy.

W porównaniu z rokiem 2010, przesłuchałem o około 30 płyt mniej. Przyczyniło się to tego wiele zdarzeń: awaria słuchawek, zgubienie słuchawek, awaria drugich słuchawek, oraz nieudana końcówka roku w której nałogowo słuchałem Małpy.

Również przez pewną niechęć do słuchania odkrytych zaległości w końcówce roku, nie udało mi się odrobić lekcji i w tym zestawieniu nie znajdą się płyty…

It's been a week, but I still haven't gotten satisfaction on this point, and so I'm going to write this journal entry.

I was at a Wye Oak/Explosions in the Sky last week and there were a couple of men standing behind me at the sold-out show having a discussion about Soul Coughing. I am a big fan of Soul Coughing from my latter high school days, and the place was packed, so it was hard not to listen in. The person doing most of the talking was commenting on an ad for Mike Doughty's next performance and saying that he missed Soul Coughing and the former frontman rapping over Sebastian and Yuval's beats (Yuval Gabay, where are you? Wikipedia says drumming for )Asian Dub Foundation). I agree wholeheartedly with this. The man went on to say that M. Doughty's current stylings are not nearly as fun and incisive as his work with Soul Coughing. I agree with this also. Then the guy says, "I want the M. Doughty who wrote El Oso back. He should go back on heroin."

When Daisy and I got together, we realised pretty quickly that we have some common ground in our music taste, but there are areas where we diverge in our tastes a great deal. Like, to the point that there are a number of bands that one or the other cannot stand whatsover. I was reminded of this most clearly at Nuis@nce the other week, when there was a twenty-to-thirty minute section of the night where there was a succession of songs that I really couldn’t stand. It’s amazing how quickly I can vanish from the dancefloor when that happens.

Anyone, this may offend the odd indie kid. To redress the balance, I’ve asked Daisy to come up with ten bands that I love that she hates. Her list was rather longer than mine, I have to admit, but the final ten are at the end.

随分前に友人からの紹介で知ったバンド。一度は見てみたいと思っていたが機会がなかった。色違いのおそろいのワンピース。お年はお譲様から随分経った感じ。オタクみたいなファンの方々が沢山いらして決まりのポーズをしていました。メロイックサインかと思いきや、狐サインみたいなので合図してました。
ベースの方の髪の毛が豊かな黒髪で、ヘッドバンギングが見事。あの髪ほすい(^ω^)/

CDで聴いた感じでは、そんなに激しいというイメージはなかったのだけれど、実際見てみるとおとなしい曲より、激しい曲のほうがステージが沸く。ドラムが素晴しい。ボーカルのあおりもなかなか。帰ったらCD聴きなおしてみようと思ったバンドでした。
メンバーは、コケージャンではなくてラテン系かアジア系の血が流れているようなお顔でした。
ボーカルは、最初？黒いテープで目隠ししていたのね。すぐに片方がはがれてぶらぶらになってたけど、そのまま直しも剥がしもしないで歌っていましたね。
