It's a shame she chooses to stay ignorant after such a disgusting and unnecessary post. The way she blocks and ostracizes those who have loved and supported her for years is shameful. The way she is leaving thousands if not millions dissapointed and disgusted. I have to say I do not know yet what I will do with my scrobbles (even blissfully unaware listened to one of her songs earlier today) and albums - while she made some soulful music, her [current] behaviour is the exact opposite: Soulless and like you said without any empathy. So I fully understand your choice there - it's heartbreaking to see someone who has been given (granted, also things she worked for) so much Talent, family, opportunities, admiration and respect, sales - act so ungrateful.

It's shocking. The Netherlands has gotten really conservative. I think bigotry and conservative religion has infected her healthy view - she has abandoned empathy and love. She has reached what she wanted and doesn't care a bit about others. I hope her children don't turn out to be trans, because they wouldn't feel accepted by their own mother. These celebrities call their hateful, influencing actions 'love' so easily. They have no idea. Maybe her marriage has taken the authentic rebel out of her and made her more like a tradwife. Only looking at her recent hairdo can be seen as a signal now. Ugly.

It really is - and it's the way she knowingly chose to be hateful by posting this - it's not like it can be interpreted as anything less than hateful - nothing funny about such a post. I have felt more conflicted about Róisín Murphy's recent situation - which had her making a comment (not an individual post) on puberty blockers from her private account, not her platform. Just like Anouk, no proper apology followed far as I know but I was less invested in her music and only had been following her for a little while up to that point. A matter of "having a different opinion" does not justify the type of unprovoked attack Anouk made.

https://www.last.fm/music/Anouk/+images/4086f6f7ba94ade9672ad2af97bf3b8a I have uploaded and set her follow up post on Threads as my prefered image. Feel free to do to the same and vote up (or down, if you disagree - I stand by it and will keep it as my prefered image). While I will currently do not choose to delete my past scrobbles - As I do appreciate the music she has made in the past - I am taking a clear stand against her behaviour - and don't plan on listening to her any further while she refuses to show the slightest sign of humanity and empathy. She could admit she f'd up and needs to be educated - but resorts to blocking fans and being unkind to those who have supported her.

About her official videos... I'd heard the songs (Sad Singalong Songs) before, and I'd imagined absolutely other pictures! And, to be honest, I really don't think these videos suit well to the lyrics. 1.) To much death in the clips... It's a usual thing for young men, but these songs were written by a grown-up woman and they are NOT about death, although they are sad ('Birds', 'The Good Life')! 2.) The great 'Kill' song is NOT about an adulterer in any way! 'He could be The One Who Knows' - it's more about some Teacher... a very important one, maybe, even about Christ! Who did compose these videos, I wonder?
