@Zombierellla : your link posted on 10/08 is not the full version. It's a version of the psycho-pass 2 opening edited by a fan. he just "looped" some part of the opening several times.

After listening to the clip a bunch: this song is miles ahead of Abnormalize. TK's vocals in the verse, especially, sound awesome. And his rhythm guitar playing just keeps getting better and better.

I'm only listening to 4th song in the album and I really like what I'm hearing. I like TK's vocal, they seem so dramatic. I got interested in them because of TK's Unravel. I know you'll say that ehh because of anime but every way is good imo :) So thanks for recommendation.

    8月 2014
  • Kuribboh

@Emi95chan "still a Sigure virgin?" is what I always recommend to start. @Zombierellla Animus is the only song with that style though. From the teasers it sounds like a really diverse mini album

I want to start listening to them. Which album do you recommend to start with?

    8月 2014
  • Zombierellla

@Kuribboh Chaotic vibes orchestra, 20 drum sets at once?! I love it, absolutely love it!! Even if Sigure goes solo I'm happy, proud and satisfied. The solo projects only show how great artists and individuals they are. Which makes me love Pierre and 凛として時雨 even more.

Just watched the teaser trailer. A lot of genres in this one. I really want to hear "Chocolate Disco" by Perfume with Yoshimitsu and "double Pendulum" which reminds of all the good math rockish bands Japan. Would be awesome to have a 凛として時雨 with that sound.

silent shoutbox is silent but anyways - Pierre will release a new mini titled "Chaotic Vibes Orchestra" on August - and the mini itself will have various guests - including TK himself (as a mixer (???)), Kyono from the Mad Capsule Markets, Origa, Seiko Oomori, Yoshimitsu from 9mm Parabellum Bullet and the guy from Clammbon...he sure knows to convince people with cast like that, haha.

I think you need to take into account the many people who can't comprehend things anywhere near your level, who in terms of music can only listen to things that are clear and repetitive. If they listen to a typical LTS track, they would probably like elements of it but overall they are not benefiting as much from it so instead they stick to simpler ones. And even if they were fluent in Japanese, they would have trouble understanding the concept of the lyrics. I do agree about the vocals though, although you could say the same things about the instruments. Listen to this as an example of an elementary song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ap-HeMIKi-c This is immediate in comparison.

  • Phenix_inFlames

They are complex yes, but not in a "hard to get" kind of way. [2] What really made them difficult for me to get into initially was the borderline ridiculous vocals.

    6月 2014
  • ftkftw

    >their average amount of plays for listener is absurdly high... ONE OK ROCK has a higher ratio. Since then I've came to the conclusion that the ratio doesn't mean much because some people play songs on loop (to buff up stats or whatever other reasons). The median would be more useful, better still if outliers are removed beforehand.

    6月 2014
  • MetalForSDF

I always thought it was pretty much the opposite. There is this almost pop-like element of catchiness that makes you dance like a crazy person.. They are complex yes, but not in a "hard to get" kind of way. I think the real love/hate situation comes from the vocals. Some people just can't stand TK.

    6月 2014
  • SinkingStarship

Yeah, even though I love this band and more or less get their "thing" at this point, with many of their songs I have to listen to them over and over before they really sink in. Tracks like Beautiful Circus have so much going on that you literally have to hear it dozens of times to pick up all the little intricacies of it.

    6月 2014
  • The_MAT_Mark

I think it's because whether the listener can comprehend them or not as LTS' music is usually complicated (looks to be the case with Rush as well based solely on their Wikipedia page). If they do, they listen to tracks repeatedly to glean more things from it; if they don't, they quickly give up. Music is usually a form of communication, and if someone doesn't understand a piece, they aren't going to listen much.

    6月 2014
  • SinkingStarship

That's because nobody is indifferent about Sigure, everybody who listens to them either dislikes them or absolutely loves them. Like I've said before, they're the Japanese equivalent of Rush.

I recall from interviews that TK says he writes the lyrics after the rest of the song, to fit the mood of the music. I don't usually pay much attention to lyrics in music but other people do, so I'm always glad to help out with translating the stuff.

    5月 2014
  • MetalForSDF

I have to admit I'm not a big fan of TK's lyrics. They are so vague you can project just about any meaning onto them. Though on the other hand the seemingly nonsensical nature fits LTS in a way too.
