Fayabash created Electrosanne in 2006. Since then, the festival has become one of the major events on Lausanne’s cultural calendar, and is now a firm end-of-summer fixture in the city.
Over four days, the city of Lausanne throbs to the sound of electronic music coming from two outdoor stages set up in the centre of the city and 4 partner clubs (D! Club, Le Romandie, La Ruche and Le Bourg). Lausanne is the fourth-biggest city in Switzerland and has the largest student population. Since the festival’s second year in 2007, a number of big names have come from all four corners of the globe to get the ever-increasing number of attendees up and dancing. 40,000 people attended the 2012 festival.
What makes Electrosanne special is the way in which it appeals to such a broad and enthusiastic audience with its programme of leading-edge but still accessible events. Electrosanne tries to cover all styles of electronic music from deep house to dubstep, and including techno, hip-hop and disco along the way.
The eighth festival will take place from 4 to 7 September 2014. Almost 80 Swiss and international artists will take part over four days and two nights. The two outdoor stages will play host to the daytime event "Electrosanne de jour", while "Electrosanne de nuit" will take place in the six partner clubs. This means you can go to DJ sets and concerts each day from the start of the afternoon till the early hours of the morning.
