説明

INDIE ROCKERS THE SHINS TO PERFORM “LIVE ON LETTERMAN” WEBCAST, TUESDAY, MARCH 20

Performance to Coincide With The Release Of
Their Fourth Full Length Album, Port of Morrow

CBS Interactive Music Group’s award-winning concert webcast series, LIVE ON LETTERMAN, will feature breakout indie band The Shins in a live webcast concert from the world-famous Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City, Tuesday, March 20 (9:00 PM, ET/6:00 PM, PT).

The Shins will play music from their catalog of hits, including their newest single, “Simple Song,” in addition to other tracks from their forthcoming release, Port of Morrow, which hits stores March 20, the day of their webcast performance. The LIVE ON LETTERMAN franchise, which recently surpassed 100 million views to date, has been host to some of the most established bands and musicians across the globe, staged in an intimate and dynamic setting for worldwide followers to enjoy.

Fans can watch The Shins’ webcast live or on-demand at http://www.cbs.com/late_night/liveonletterman/. In addition, the show is available live and on-demand through CBS properties, broadcast on select CBS RADIO stations, viewable live on CBS’s JumboTron in Times Square, as well as via a live audio stream on Radio.com’s mobile applications. The webcasts are also offered through VEVO’s website and most mobile apps, with on-demand performances available across the entire VEVO platform including VEVO.com, mobile and connected devices and syndication partners.

The Shins are an American indie rock band founded and fronted by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist James Mercer, who began the band in Albuquerque, New Mexico as a side project. The Shins gained popularity throughout the early ‘00s, paving the way for a resurgence in indie rock and cementing the band’s reputation as the new wave of rock music. After appearances on television shows and movie soundtracks, the band became exposed to a larger audience and, in 2008, The Shins’ third album, Wincing the Night Away, was nominated for a GRAMMY® Award for Best Alternative Album.

The Shins’ current lineup consists of Mercer, singer/songwriter Richard Swift, Modest Mouse drummer Joe Plummer, Yuuki Matthews of Crystal Skulls and Jessica Dobson. The band is embarking on a tour this spring, spending March in Europe and playing the United States and several North American festivals from April through June.

The Shins’ LIVE ON LETTERMAN webcast will follow the taping of their performance on the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN, which will be broadcast later that evening (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
